Working hard as I can for the ultimate perspective, what I call the Million Mile View: stepping back as far as imagination will allow to see things differently.
To think a single child (who doesn’t belong to the Trump family) will see a share of this SpaceX donation is just pure naivety. https://t.co/jk0YoR2xjl
@MarkJCarney Mark, pleased reconsider the irresponsible move to bail out developers using taxpayer money. This does not help Canadians and is at odds with the economic conditions you want to create. https://t.co/mOjBJIn1Uv
The Canadian government is spending $3.2 billion in taxpayer money to buy 2,200 vacant condos in Greater Vancouver and convert them to rental units. That sounds like a housing policy. It isn't. It's a developer bailout.
Those 2,200 units represent roughly a third of the unsold condo glut in the Vancouver area — a glut that exists because developers overbuilt, overleveraged, and misjudged the market. Now the government is stepping in to absorb their losses.
Rare is the policy that unites capitalists and socialists in opposition. This is one of them.... *links in replies* #whenthebubblebursts
The difference in Trump's actions speaks volumes. Both are Communist countries; one (Cuba) is weak and small while the other (China) is large and powerful.
Trump is obsequious to one and cruel to the other:
@BenRabidoux It’s the smart thing to do. That’s if you imagine that they can do anything about it. They can’t. It just serves them to claim it’s all as planned. 🙄
BREAKING: Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares HUMILIATES Karoline Leavitt by immediately destroying her lie that Spain is militarily cooperating with Trump's Iran war: "I categorically deny this."
The MAGA narrative collapsed at record speed...
"Spain's position on the war in the Middle East, on the attack on Iran, on the use of our bases, has not changed one comma," Albares said in a radio interview.
Spain ignited Trump's rage by ejecting U.S. aircraft from their military bases because his war of aggression against Iran is a clear violation of international law. Trump responded by threatening to cut of "all" trade with Spain. Then, earlier today, Leavitt claimed that Spain had backtracked.
"With respect to Spain, I think they heard the president's message yesterday loud and clear and it's my understanding over the past several hours, they've agreed to cooperate with the U.S. military," the White House Press Secretary claimed during a briefing earlier today. "And so I know that the U.S. military is coordinating with their counterparts in Spain."
"But the president expects all Europe, all of our European allies, of course, to cooperate in this long sought after mission, not just for the United States but also for Europe crush the rogue Iranian regime, that again, not only threatens America but also threatens our European allies as well," Leavitt add.
The real "rogue" element here is the Trump administration. The American president used negotiations with Iran to mask his plans for an illegal war, which he then launched without congressional approval. Innocent men, women, and children are dying and American troops are already coming home in caskets.
It didn't take long for Spain to completely dismantle Leavitt's remarks.
"She might be the White House spokesperson, but I'm the foreign minister of Spain!" said Albares.
"I have no idea what she could be referring to or where that could be coming from," he stated, adding that he has "no desire" and "almost no time" to speculate.
"There is an agreement, a bilateral accord, and outside the framework of that bilateral agreement, there will be no use of Spanish sovereign bases," he said. "Any operation must be within the framework of the United Nations."
He further stated that Spain has "nothing to fear" from the United States: "What does a country that respects international law and seeks peace have to fear?"
"We have been a friend of the United States since its independence, and we are an important trading partner," he said. "Our commitment is beyond question, but Spain is also a sovereign and independent country."
Please ❤️ and share to thank Spain for standing strong!
@JustinWolfers It is simple. All tweets from the president are policy. Except those sent by anonymous staffers. And those that conflict with other comments by the president. Or his cabinet. But anything Melania, Kushner or other unelected family say is always policy. Unless it isn’t.
In the 1920s there was radio mania focused mostly on one stock, RCA. The stock fell peak to trough about 98% during early 1930s, and yet radio’s growth never slowed for many more decades. Even if you predicted a half century of radio dominance, you would have lost money on RCA. $NVDA

China is building coal plants at a record high to mitigate the intermittence of solar and wind (also built by coal power). How does this make any sense? @pwrhungry

Even in coastal areas like Nova Scotia, the tendency for wind to disappear during cold snaps and heat waves persists.
During the recent cold spell where temperatures in the province hit -21C, their 600MW wind fleet dropped down to producing just 75MW; 12.5% of nameplate and 3% of the province's electricity.

When I say "run out of money," I mean that Oracle cannot afford to pay the debt on its data centers if OpenAI does not pay it. For OpenAI to do so, it will have to make more money than Salesforce in the space of a year and raise $200bn in the next two.
https://t.co/VAW1pVo5MO
OpenAI’s spend with Oracle will eventually be $70bn to $100bn a year, for some context I think azure is $75bn and AWS $110bn~ annual. Demand doesn’t exist and Oracle has 4-6 years to pay the $38bn alone, owes Crusoe $1bn a year on Abilene. Has to pay customer or not
