Richard Sherman does a great breakdown of the 49ers and Brandon Aiyuk situation:

• The issues for BA started during the Super Bowl loss against the Chiefs in 2023

• The resentment BA had from the SB loss, trade rumors & whatever else was bothering him at the time should have been flushed before signing the extension or he should have agreed to be traded during that time

• Once the agreement was signed BA needed to buy back in

• Sherman believes once BA is reinstated, the 49ers will likely release him at that point

• Sherman doesn’t believe the 49ers did anything horribly wrong. Says the 49ers did not disrespect BA

• Sherman disagrees with LeSean McCoy’s comments about players need to fight ownerships like BA did. “They paid him $30M to catch the football. If you get paid for the services, you have to provide the services. You don’t just get to get paid and say 'na I’m not gonna play wide receiver'.”

• “You don’t get to get paid and say I’m not gonna rehab with the team, which is fine, you can choose to not rehab with the team, many players have done it, but if you do that, you have to show up 4 days earlier than everyone else (it’s protocol) because the team that invested $30M a year in you wants to evaluate you and see how your rehab is going. They want to do MRI’s, they want to do testing and they want to do it at a time when there’s not 90 other players there. So they can focus on you.”

It’s a long clip, but I strongly recommend listening to it

In a world where the portal is the way to walk, there is the must-be told story of Carter Cunningham

Already a Major League level human, Carter starred for me as a freshman & signed w/ ECU w/ 3 years of eligibility

It went south

Carter got benched, money taken at seasons end

He bet on himself and it didn’t work out. He was left with two choices. Jump in the portal like everyone does in this situation… or fix what went wrong

Carter, one of the most thoughtful young men I’ve ever encountered made the most intelligent decision he could have and so few rarely do after such a failure. He doubled down and bet on himself AGAIN

He committed to having fun playing ball, went to Charlottesville and played in the Valley League and had what he described as the funnest time he ever had playing baseball

He went back to ECU with no scholarship

2024 American Athletic Conference Player of the Year, drafted by the Blue Jays in the 10th round. I got a chance to watch him live 2 months back here in Ft Myers in a big league spring training game. I beam with pride

Carter took the L but not the defeat

He refused defeat

Some situations the player has to leave… in many they don’t!

Players can you accept that you might not be good enough now but you might be in 6 months if you take the constructive criticism properly and get tf after it?!?!?!

Carter Cunningham: a guy who will make mistakes and will lose at times, but will always remain undefeated

Listen to LB Eric Kendricks speak on this #49ers team:

“I just wanted to wait for the right opportunity for the right team. Nothing felt too right until I got here and I got to the locker room, with all the leaders of this team has. It just made the most sense and I feel like I fit in with the guys right away. I was willing to take a role that I had never taken before, playing a different position I never played before, playing special teams. It was easy because everyone on this team is so unselfish.”

Sheriff Grady Judd arrested 8 PA kids for stealing 47 items worth over $2,200 from Dick’s Sporting Goods, potentially costing their team a championship. Coach begging deputies and management to drop charges and when unsuccessful, coach said don’t you guys have something better to do than arrest these kids. Judd refused: " I don’t know if they were starters or not, but we are finisher, we arrested them… In Polk County, we lock up thieves, no warnings… Coach, you're the loser; hold kids accountable like we do here, where crimes are at a 53-year low”
