Honored to play alongside Portland Police Highland Guard, Portland Fire Fighters Pipes and Drums and Puget Sound Firefighters Pipes and Drums yesterday for Clark County Sgt Jeremy Brown’s memorial.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day from the band! Wish we could be out playing today, but hope to be performing in public again in the near future. Until then, be safe and we’ll see you soon.
It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Trooper Justin R. Schaffer, who died in the line of duty today. Justin passed away at the age of 28 after serving 7 years with WSP. This is a time of enormous grief for our agency, family and the community he served.
We mourn the deaths of two @honolulupolice officers, killed in the line of duty yesterday. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends of these brave officers.
This a.m. our dept, community & especially one of our families suffered an incredible loss. In great sadness we report that Deputy Cooper Dyson was killed in a collision while on duty, as he rushed to aid fellow deputies who were being assaulted by a domestic violence suspect.
Tomorrow FF Mark Place is retiring after 25 years with SFD. A staple of the band for many years. Started on bass but found his calling on the pipes. If you've seen us play, he would be the one standing head and shoulders above everyone else and always with a smile. Congrats Mark!
