The Dixie National Forest just announced their "controlled burn" fire mitigation plan for 2025-26. They will be treating 3 areas for a total on 2598 acres. That is less than 0.01% of a forest that is way more overgrown than not. We can and must embrace better methods.

🚨Wildfire Update

It will soon be one month since I was on this property, and still no @UtahFFSL and @FireAuthority crews are working here to thin trees and carry out the wildfire mitigation plan issued by the Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands.

I hear the delays are caused by @SLCoGov, @SLCGov, @LBriefer, and @SLCPU. Because of these delays, I doubt crews will be on the mountain this fall.

Public safety is a core responsibility of the government. What are Salt Lake County and Salt Lake City/Salt Lake City Public Utilities prioritizing over public safety?
