@menscher Many security incidents start with “this doesn’t look right” followed by an internal struggle whether you want to pull that string at 7 pm on a Friday 😅
@UK_Daniel_Card When I was a Sheriff’s Deputy they would have us practice drawing on an assailant with a knife at 15 yards out. We would draw as soon as they start running. Literally no one had their weapon full out of the holster before they were “stabbed” two or three times.
@shenetworks@HDergler That’s true today but I suspect future SWE interviews will be applied knowledge (e.g, build something with this prompt and set of requirements).
AI is rapidly advancing and “vibe coding” is increasingly destigmatized. You already have the technical grounding to build well without having to be deeply proficient in the underlying code.
You might consider starting or contributing to an open source project that solves a real problem in your field. This really sets candidates apart IMO.
