That is exactly why we are organizing Sounds of Sipi Falls – The Coffee Expedition Edition.

Agribusiness in Uganda, especially in the coffee and cocoa sectors, is full of potential, but it also comes with challenges that many people never see. While the world sees rising exports and the energy of youth joining the value chain, the reality on the ground is much tougher.
One major challenge is the constant fluctuation of international prices. Markets move unpredictably, making it difficult to offer stable prices to farmers while also meeting the demands of buyers. This creates a continuous struggle to balance expectations.
Transport and logistics also remain a big hurdle. Poor roads, high fuel costs, and delayed trucks make it expensive and stressful to move produce from farms to processing centres. Every trip becomes a risk in terms of time and cost.
Consistency in quality is another challenge. Export markets demand strict standards, yet most of our coffee and cocoa comes from smallholder farmers who need ongoing training and support. Achieving uniform quality across thousands of farmers requires time, patience, and resources.
Access to affordable financing is still limited. Agribusiness requires a lot of capital to buy produce, store it, transport it, and run operations yet youthled businesses often struggle to secure loans or credit.
Climate change is another threat we face daily. Irregular rainfall, longer droughts, and increasing pest attacks affect both yields and quality, forcing farmers and businesses to adapt quickly.
There are also high costs associated with processing and certifications. To access premium markets, businesses must invest in equipment, traceability, and compliance all of which demand significant financial strength.
Managing farmer relationships, though essential, requires consistent engagement. Building trust, offering training, and ensuring timely payments is not simple, but it is key to sustaining supply.
Lastly, shifting policies and new requirements like sustainability standards add pressure. Regulations change, taxes shift, and global demands evolve all creating uncertainties that businesses must constantly adjust to.
Despite these challenges, we remain committed. We believe in the potential of Uganda’s coffee and cocoa, and in the power of our young people to transform the sector. With better systems, training, and support, these challenges can become stepping stones toward a stronger agricultural future.

We live what we preach.
I’m not just here to talk about coffee farming I’m here to show what’s possible when you believe, start small, and stay consistent.
Just 1½ years down the road, this section of our farm is already thriving. Every leaf and berry reminds me that the future truly is coffee.
I remember when a group of youths visited the farm about 6 months ago they couldn’t believe this section of farm was about 11months and am certain if the same people visited today they wouldn’t believe it’s the same section the farm they saw a few months ago
When I tell people that you can start harvesting coffee in just 18 months, many think it’s a myth but here we are, living proof that it works.
To the young people out there don’t wait for everything to be perfect. Start with what you have, even if it’s just 100 coffee trees. That small beginning could be the foundation of something life changing.
And guess what?
I’m here to walk with you through that journey to guide, support, and show you that it can be done. Let’s grow this coffee dream together. 💪🏾

How many missed us?
Are you looking for organically grown cocoa ? . Do you mind about how ethical sourced is your cocoa ? Is quality very important to you or your clients ? Then look no further i present to your @SectrineGroup a youth led company that focuses on providing to you the best quality of cocoa and coffee grown and sourced from small scale farmers who are family to us .
We don’t just buy coffee or cocoa from them , we empower them , train them and when you source your product from us be rest assured you are supporting the farmers directly
Our commitment to promoting farmer welfare , fair trade and environmental protection are at the core of our business
We and our partners have a capacity of over 200 tns per week of both coffee and cocoa
To the business representatives, brokers and procurement officers, we give commission for any referrals on confirmation of business and we are certain that our prices beat the average market prices because we source directly from individual farmers and cooperatives
So bring in those contracts
And to those seeing this post , a retweet means a lot to me and the other youths in business for our next client maybe on your timeline
To all the young people out there that look at farming as a job done by the poor and less fortunate persons in Uganda , I am here to inform you that we are past that level just for you to know if one has 4 acres of coffee they are much more wealthier than you who earns that salary of less than 3M ugx per month
You may be wondering why do I say that let me break it down for you
With 4 acres of coffee one has the capacity to earn 7M shs from each acre per season and we have two seasons in a year that making it 14M from each acre
Now multiple the 14M from each acre times the 4acres that’s about 56 M per year
And the cost of maintenance per acre is about a million shs per season that including labour and all the other inputs you need
I can’t break down all the math in just one single post but when you ask my elders like @JackieAkampwera , @GKatabazi and @salimo_paul they will approve what am telling you and this isn’t a motivational speech but the reality about life
As I close this tweet today to all the young people out there to would love to start up coffee or cocoa farming all I can tell you that it’s the best choice to do and some of us regret not having stated early becoz the fruits of farming are amazing
If you need help on farm set up , inputs , fertilizers and seedlings , we are here to help you at no cost
And share this post to the people and youths you wish an early retirement
#YouthInCoffee
#YouthInAgriculture
As a self appointed coffee youth ambassador since no one seems to care about #YouthInCoffee , I am offering 10,000 coffee seedlings to youths out there that want to start coffee farming at affordable prices of 2k per seedling
After selling the seedlings to you , I will also offer free farm advise and farm set up to these youths . I will help them till they are well established as coffee farmers
Please note that the seedlings am offering are KR CWR seedlings which are coffee wilt resistant , high yielding with bigger beans and also early mature .
You will be about to do your first harvest in 1 year and 6months (18months)
Those interested DM me for details on how to get them since the planting season is here
It’s on first come first serve basis . My interest is much more in youths and women start ups
Let’s share this information widely for change and youth empowerment starts with you and that one retweet
Today alongside a team from @UCFAuganda with support from @EUinUG i carried out training to train lead farmers and cooperative heads from 26 coffee cooperatives about with some being youth about #EUDR and the #CS3D as we get them prepared to comply to the new regulations
The joy of a farmer who applies fertilizers & does all the GAPs is seen in the photos below . As most farmers are out of season this side we are still harvesting yet the trees are also flowering and we even have cherries for the April season thats what we call triple blessings
Empowering small scale #Coffee farmers about cupping for them to understand the things that affect the quality of the final product is important to us as specialty coffee buyers and exporters . And I do this often and I am so proud of sharing my journey with those farmers
