Intolerable cruelty of losing your child to Islam

My friend's 18 year old son was trapped by Pakistani Muslims and converted to Islam. He started hating Hinduism. He observed the roza in secret. He started attending the Pakistani mosque. He used to say Islam is the perfect religion. 9/11 was fake. All incidents of Islamic terrorism are fake news because Muslims are peaceful and cannot kill innocent people. Basically, he became fully radicalized.

It took superhuman efforts by the parents to get him back. They spent over Rs 20 lakh in the effort. They made countless trips to the de-radicalisation centre in Kerala. They have spent 3 agonizing years to get him back into Hinduism. Yet still, the boy is resentful of his parents. The friend often cries over phone, saying what a curse it is to live a life in which they have to observe their son every single day because he could relapse into Islam if they let down their guard. I jokingly call him Little Jehadi, but it's not a joke for his parents who live in fear that he might go back to Islam some day.

The Kerala sanstha where the boy was treated for the virus had dozens of such youth - all from upper middle class Hindu families.

One of these was a 24 year old woman who became friends with this 18 year old. She was trapped into Love Jehad by a nasty scumbag in Bengaluru. After she was reconverted to Hinduism, her parents took her back home but the jehadi contacted her somehow and she's again infected by the virus.

Worse, this 24 year old woman called up my friend's son and encouraged him to convert back to Islam because according to her he had the right to choose his own faith. She said nasty things about the guru ji of the sanstha. This upset the boy and he started showing jehadi tendencies once again.

The parents of the boy called up the woman's parents asking for an explanation. The woman's parents were beyond disconsolate and said, "You protect your son from her. Block all methods of contact. We are taking her back to the sanstha."

Both sets of parents are nervous wrecks. My friend was sobbing while narrating this. "For us it's like living with cancer. Only much worse. Cancer can break individuals and families. But this jehadi virus destroys morale. We cannot relax. We have to watch them every single hour. It's unbearable torture living like this."

But they are not giving up. They will fight these jehadis till they die.
