I’d be willing to bet the @FBI will let us know soon what they find so the public can be eased.

Susan and I are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Senator Lindsey Graham - an extraordinary patriot and advocate for freedom at home and around the world, whom I was privileged to call a friend. From his years of service in the Air Force to his tireless work in Congress, Lindsey was the ultimate happy warrior, working tirelessly on behalf of the people of South Carolina and the United States of America. The fact that Lindsey had returned from the latest of his many trips to Ukraine just a day before his passing speaks volumes about his dedication to that noble cause, and his commitment to advancing freedom and security around the world.

On a personal note, I had the great fortune of working with and learning from Senator Graham - first as a junior member of Congress, and later during my tenure as CIA Director and Secretary of State. He was always there to provide wise counsel when I sought it, and never shied away from giving me hell if he felt like I needed to hear it. His sense of humor, wisdom, and patriotism were second to none. He understood that if America doesn't lead, the world will be a more dangerous place. I will miss him, and America is the poorer for having lost him.

We are praying for Lindsey's family at this difficult time. May he fly west and rest in the arms of the Lord.

Again a diplomatic solution to end the reign of terror in Iran is the preferred outcome. The supposed negotiating document, in my view, has some troubling aspects, but time will tell. I look forward to the architects of this proposal, the Vice President and others, coming forward to Congress and explaining how a negotiated deal meets our national security objectives in Iran. As President @realDonaldTrump said this morning, all the highly enriched uranium must be removed from Iran and handed over to the United States – the Libyan Model.

Allowing this regime to enrich in the future would be an affront to all those murdered by the regime since this war started and would be inconsistent with denying Iran a pathway toward a bomb in the future. That is why I strongly support President Trump’s statement today: no enrichment for Iran. Many countries have peaceful nuclear power but do not enrich uranium. At a minimum, that should be the case for Iran.

To those who say, Iran needs to save face by having a small enrichment program, I’m not remotely interested in providing face-saving cover to a regime that murders its own people, beats a 16-year-old girl to death for not wearing a headscarf appropriately, and is dripping in American blood.

The last thing I’m interested in is for Iran to be able to save face. I’m interested in a deal that will stop their maniacal drive to a nuclear weapon among other things.

🔹 آمادگی پنتاگون برای عملیات زمینی محدود در ایران؛ تمرکز بر زیرساخت‌های استراتژیک

بر اساس گزارش تحقیقی وب‌سایت خبری «ماکو» (N12)، وزارت دفاع ایالات متحده (پنتاگون) در حال بررسی و آماده‌سازی طرح‌هایی برای احتمال انجام یک عملیات زمینی محدود و هدفمند در خاک ایران است. گزارش‌ها حاکی از آن است که نیروهای «دیویژن ۸۲ هوابرد» ارتش آمریکا در حالت آماده‌باش برای سناریوهایی هستند که ممکن است هفته‌ها یا حتی ماه‌ها به طول انجامد.

تمرکز اصلی این برنامه بر انهدام زیرساخت‌های کلیدی در مناطق استراتژیک است، از جمله جزیره خارک، شریان اصلی صادرات نفت ایران، و دیگر مراکز لجستیکی حیاتی.

منابع امنیتی به N12 اعلام کرده‌اند که هدف از این طرح محدود کردن توان تهاجمی و اقتصادی ایران و جلوگیری از ادامه جنگ‌های نیابتی در منطقه است.

در واکنش به این تهدیدات، مقامات نظامی ایران نیروهای خود را در مناطق ساحلی و جزایر خلیج فارس مستقر کرده‌اند. علی‌اکبر احمدیان، از مقامات امنیتی ایران، مدعی شده است که نیروهای مسلح کشور برای مواجهه با هرگونه عملیات زمینی آمریکا آماده هستند. ناظران این اظهارات را تلاشی برای پنهان کردن نگرانی‌ها از ضعف و فروپاشی توان دفاعی رژیم می‌دانند.

با وجود آمادگی فنی پنتاگون، سخنگوی کاخ سفید تأکید کرده است که وجود این طرح‌ها به معنای اتخاذ تصمیم نهایی برای حمله نیست. این نکته تأییدی است بر تحلیل‌های پیشین که دولت ترامپ میان «فشار نظامی برای دستیابی به امتیاز دیپلماتیک» و «عملیات برای تغییر رژیم» در نوسان است.

گزارش N12 نشان می‌دهد که علی‌رغم تمایل واشینگتن به دستیابی به توافق سریع، ماهیت غیرقابل پیش‌بینی بازوهای نیابتی ایران و اصرار تهران بر ادامه تنش، گزینه‌ی نظامی را بیش از هر زمان دیگری روی میز نگه داشته است. هزینه این ماجراجویی‌ها بیشترین فشار را بر مردم منطقه وارد کرده است.
