I was a library assistant while in the middle of my BA but I think they cared more abt my customer service experience than my history degree 🤷🏼 and now I work at a public library and I’m one of 3 ppl there with or working towards an MLIS so #ithinkitdepends

tbh library assistants don’t usually need more than a high school diploma (in my experience) but it’s still not super easy to get a job without a good amount of experience… I do understand ppl being defensive tho bc I too am spending my hard-earned money on a MLIS
