Jimmy Page tearing into the legendary “Heartbreaker” solo at Madison Square Garden, New York — open-string pull-offs flying all over the neck, wild bends behind the nut, and that unmistakable Page swagger. It’s raw, fearless, and completely his own.
In a 1993 Guitar World interview, Jimmy was asked why he chose to record the Heartbreaker solo completely alone. His answer was simple: “I just fancied doing it.” But there was more behind that choice. Page explained that while producing Led Zeppelin’s records, he was always pushing himself to try something different — something no one else had thought of.

Navigating Sobriety: Finding Control Without Substances
As someone who struggled with addiction, I know the challenge of seeking control amidst chaos. For years, alcohol was my refuge, offering fleeting comfort and escape.
After over seven months of sobriety, I've realised true control isn't found in a bottle but in daily choices, habits, and mindset.
Shifting from seeking control through substances to finding it within myself has been pivotal. Alcohol was a temporary fix for depression and stress, but now I use healthier coping mechanisms.
Mindfulness is key. Through breathing, meditation, and journaling, I face my thoughts and feelings without judgment, managing stress constructively.
Prioritising self-care with exercise, nutrition, and sleep is non-negotiable. These habits reinforce discipline and self-control.
Seeking support from therapy, support groups, and understanding loved ones has been crucial.
Understanding the science behind addiction helps me recognize triggers and navigate challenges.
Building control without substances is a daily practice of self-discovery and growth. Setting goals, practicing gratitude, and embracing flexibility are part of maintaining sobriety.
Sobriety isn't about deprivation; it's liberation from addiction, allowing us to live authentically. Today, I choose sobriety. Today, I choose freedom.
Wishing everyone well on their journey.
P.S. Appreciate the repost; it helps spread awareness about alcohol risks and recovery.

High Storm Surge levels and large waves are expected to impact the Atlantic coast of mainland Nova Scotia, with high winds and crashing waves starting now into the evening.
Please stay away from coastal areas like Peggy’s Cove and the Lunenburg and Halifax Waterfronts until the storm surge and weather has subsided. This is your reminder that no views are worth the risk of serious injury.
