@RachelHasLayers@hankgreen The weirdest part of the paxlovid taste is how you can feel it - laying in bed, being sick, and… your taste changes. You’re not even doing anything and suddenly the background noise of your existence is just… different. It was both incredibly interesting and uncomfortable.
@hankgreen@rose_quarks This is also one of the few times it’s ok to say “ok, out of our two kids… there’s one YOU vibe worth, and one I vibe with. Go with your kid.”
Hubs and I have decided planes and mass transit are times to go with “your” kid. You can work the rest out in therapy later.
@kaylaarayee @cuchlann@ADHD_Alien …. Dogs went on four walks in one day (normally 0-1), started disassembling the dresser for a repair 5 minutes before I had to leave for work. My patience with my tween step sons was SHOT. Better than dealing with Covid, but UGH.
@kaylaarayee @cuchlann@ADHD_Alien Hi, saw this because we have a mutual. I got Covid a couple months ago and took Paxlovid. I’ve had an IUD for ~8 years. I had my first period in all that time, due to the hormone disruption. My ADHD symptoms were BONKERS. Went to advance the laundry… in my car.
@How2Drink I’m jealous. We couldn’t get a reservation in April with our space-loving kid (and former space-junkie parents who went different directions in life). I figured the food was “meh” but made up for it in ambiance.
@Lin_Manuel I found out recently that my husband (a k-8 music teacher uses “Lin Manuel Miranda shows up at the door” as an example of “an emergency that it’s ok to stop class for.” You’re kind of a big deal.
@l_shaffer@lindaholmes My husband is 5’2”, I’m 5’5”. Our new neighbor is… at least 6’? I haven’t quite figured out the number of months before I ask him if he can reach that gutter that needs ONE SCREW, or I have to call a handyman for $100…..
@NewGradfornow@bro_nurse I’m a nurse in a nursing home, and I sometimes think fondly about my grandfather getting calls about his dad yelling at the nurses in Hungarian if he didn’t get his 4:45 shot of whiskey.
@kidfropro@hankgreen Some of the best nurses I work with went to discount schools. My cohort at a mid-tier school had some I wouldn’t let touch my family with a ten foot pole. The correlation is low here.
@CupOJo11@fuzzymittens Ideally, these would be low acuity patients. Anecdotally, it’s becoming increasingly common for these patients to be increasingly high in acuity, or even in non-ER areas like inpatient units. These are almost always in addition to the nurse’s regular assignment.
@CupOJo11@fuzzymittens When all the “regular” beds are full in the ER, they add “hallway” beds - these are just gurneys. If it’s a rare occurrence, that’s all they’ll be. If it’s an expected occurrence, they might have a cart of equipment. But not a wired monitor.
@jtrebach I had a patient today who was super chill through three nurses trying before we called the IV nurse for a midline, then very quietly sat still while she placed it…. And pulled the whole thing out in less than an hour.
@tessmccary @blkgirllostkeys We do this in our house! We have a list on our family whiteboard of movies we want to watch. The kids have a 100-side die and “roll for a movie” on movie night.
@toifrogs @SPuro88@DrLongissimus I do my best to take all allergies seriously, but I really had to question this guy when he asked for chicken soup before I was even done with his admission. Same guy who wanted his IV dilaudid… in a SNF. Reported me to corporate for “refusing to provide care.”
@SPuro88@DrLongissimus I had someone tell me they were allergic to chicken and turkey a few weeks ago. Turns out they just really hate turkey sandwiches.
@thekittymeister The other day, Matt was pouring himself a glass of wine, and our Italian Greyhound was sitting there begging. He had his sad eyes and everything, like, “yes, I know I am a tiny dog, but I need wine.”
