•͜• To live is to talk, to linger, and to spend time with others, nurturing little moments that may one day become memories. Welcome to Mika’s sanctuary. I hope you find something warm here, and enjoy your time with me.
Perhaps I miss summer more than I should: the warmth on my skin, the afternoon light spilling through the windows, and the quiet hours that seemed to ask nothing of me.
@Fillebrume Substack actually sounds perfect for easing back into reading without making it feel like homework. And yes, please send me some of your favorites. I’d love to see what you’ve been reading lately. :-)
Ditching one of my favorite things for a while, because somewhere along the way, even reading started to feel like something I had to keep up with. I miss enjoying a book without letting it consume me. Recommend me one to ease back into it?
@lesoilment I suppose the little gatekeeper finally let you through. Hello there, Jacqueline. Consider that hopeful little wave returned, and perhaps we’ll let the conversation slip past the guards too.
@virvalentis Glad to know I’ve already skipped the awkward introduction and apparently gained an ethically questionable uncle in the process. I’ll keep your services in mind, though I can’t promise I’ll only bring you respectable problems.
@cheearry Hi, Cara. If you’re opening a new chapter, I suppose I could leave a few lines of my own in the margins. I’d be happy to be a page or two in yours, if you’ll have me. :-)
@amaryllisscent Hello, Amaryllis. Rylli is lovely, but I might have to spend some time here before deciding what suits you best. I’m Mika, by the way. My Saturday has been rather gentle so far. I hope yours has been kind to you too.
@Fillebrume I suppose a house starts feeling like home when there are enough voices to fill its quiet corners. I’m Mika, by the way. Glad to be one of the faces wandering in, and hopefully one that stays long enough to become familiar.
And I wondered, watching the road disappear beneath us. Maybe somewhere the river still remembers my name, where the stones keep old secrets and the heart knows how to wake itself again. I suppose I’m only following whatever has been quietly flowing through my life.
