An amateur philosopher/theoretical anthropologist developing a new-naturalistic "synoptic" worldview. All ideas here are public. No credit needed to use them.
The new trends in the philosophies/sciences of biology and cognition seem to me to call for a "naturalization" of (our modern conception of) language. That's that I wanted to say, in this thread of tweets.
An impulsive tweet:
It seems that in the last decade or so the philosophers of biology and of cognition (or mind) both have been witnessing radical new trends, in which the possibility of downward "causation" (broadly re-construed) is seriously taken.
And, it might also help to clarify in what sense Price's "subject naturalism" deserves to be called a "naturalism". After all, this view of language is an extension of the kind of new biology that I implied above (through the "new trends in biology and cognition).
