The Iran war is driving fuel prices higher worldwide, causing protests and economic pressure in countries far from the conflict.
Import-dependent nations such as Pakistan, Myanmar and Kenya have been hit especially hard, while the U.S. is also facing higher gasoline prices due to global oil markets.
Governments are responding with fuel subsidies, price caps and tax cuts, but the IMF has warned that prolonged support measures could strain public finances.

Why Greenland and Trumps Greenland deal is so important
-Arctic sealanes
-Golden dome
-Critical resources like rare earth minerals
◾️on the map you can see the retreating icecap has opened shippinglanes for periods of the year. Greenland offers a place to monitor and restrict Russian and Chinese naval and submarine movements through the strategic North Atlantic sea corridor (known as the GIUK gap). And it complements Alaska to exert strategic control of the Arctic waters.
◾️The map also shows why Greenland is crucial for Trumps golden dome project, Us missile shield.
▶️Polar Flight Path: Sits directly under the shortest trajectory incoming missiles would take over the North Pole to hit the U.S.
▶️Safe Interception: Allows intercepting missiles in space so toxic debris falls over Arctic ice instead of American cities.
▶️Satellite Tracking Hub: Offers frequent, direct communication with polar-orbiting satellites tracking incoming threats.
▶️Perfect Laser Conditions: Features cold, dry, ultra-clear air that optimizes advanced laser and sensor tracking.
▶️Existing Radar Base: Leverages the Pituffik Space Base to feed early-warning radar data straight into the defense shield.
◾️Greenland holds some of the world's largest untapped reserves of rare earth minerals, including critical metals like lithium, titanium, cobalt, and nickel. These minerals are vital for advanced electronics, electric vehicle batteries, and defense technology. Acquiring influence over these reserves reduces U.S. reliance on China, which currently dominates the global supply chain.
G7 vs BRICS
G7 — about $55.3 trillion
🇺🇸 United States: $32.38T
🇩🇪 Germany: $5.45T
🇯🇵 Japan: $4.38T
🇬🇧 United Kingdom: $4.26T
🇫🇷 France: $3.60T
🇮🇹 Italy: $2.74T
🇨🇦 Canada: $2.51T
BRICS (11 members) — about $35.2 trillion
🇨🇳 China: $20.85T
🇮🇳 India: $4.15T
🇷🇺 Russia: $2.66T
🇧🇷 Brazil: $2.64T
🇮🇩 Indonesia: $1.54T
🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia: $1.39T
🇦🇪 UAE: ~$0.62T
🇿🇦 South Africa: ~$0.48T
🇪🇬 Egypt: ~$0.43T
Iran: ~$0.30T
🇪🇹 Ethiopia: ~$0.20T
Since the October 2023 post, G7 nominal GDP rose from $45.9T to about $55.3T and expanded BRICS from $30.8T to about $35.2T. The dollar gap therefore widened, mainly because of US growth.
In purchasing-power-parity terms the picture is reversed: IMF figures for 2025 put BRICS at about 40.5% of world output versus 28.3% for the G7.

BREAKING: The odds of a September interest rate hike surge to 79% after US CPI inflation hits 3.4% in August.
It is incredible to think that, at the start of 2026, markets were expecting the Fed’s 3rd interest rate CUT of the year this month.
Inflation roars on and "higher for longer" is back.
There you have it folks.
We now have all the relevant data that we will get prior to the September 16th Fed meeting.
US PPI inflation is up to +5.4%, the US economy tripped expectations and added +162,000 jobs in August, and US CPI inflation is at +3.4%.
We also have $100+ oil prices, record high diesel prices, and inflation at least 140 basis points above the Fed's 2.0% target.
Keep in mind, whatever the Fed does, they will NOT be providing guidance.
Needless to say, next week is going to be a highly eventful week.

The war in the Middle East sent crude prices higher. Less demand, more production, and inventory drawdowns prevented a greater surge. As tensions rise again, the world needs supply to recover quickly to avoid more economic damage. Read our new blog.
