Took the Arriva bus today. Half the screen was missing, and the words popped out at me: actless. Act less. Bossy little screen. At least I didn't have to pay, as it was actress instead of contactless.
In my husband's last 48 hours, he ignored a roomful of doctors fighting to keep his blood pressure up. When he saw me walk in, he said, "There you are." His face softened, his shoulders relaxed, and he leaned back on his pillows. I think about that moment a lot.
Extremist thinking has become the norm on social media platforms. With it comes quick intolerance and demonising of other people. It's hateful rhetoric hiding insidiously behind self-righteous words from what the speaker reckons is high moral ground. It just feeds narcissists.

As I picked Eric the dog up (he couldn't be bothered with walking) at the entrance to the garden centre, I saw an employee smile through his mask (a 2020 skill). I carried Eric past him and said, "I'm walking the dog, you know." He laughed WITH me, I think. #dogsoftwitter
