TPS benchmarks break the second you add state.

Most "100k TPS" claims are stress tests padded with consensus votes and noop calls. Real contracts touching actual storage? You're looking at 1-2k user TPS. The bottleneck isn't consensus it's execution choking on disk I/O

@AltiusLabs measures gas-per-second on mainnet traces: 374M→657M GPS on a 32-core box. That's compute + storage + parallelism under load, not slide numbers.

If your benchmark doesn't touch disk, you're not benchmarking execution.
