The CDC says it has traced cases in the cyclospora outbreak to a Taylor Farms supplier in Mexico, though there may be other, unrelated sources.
They're advising caution on eating shredded lettuce from some of the places supplied by Taylor Farms, including Taco Bell, McDonald's, Wendy's, Subway, and Chipotle.
Taylor Farms is the world's largest salad and fresh-cut vegetable processor.
In 2009, their CEO testified against food safety testing measures.
They've had *major* recalls since then:
2011: Salmonella & Listeria
2012: Salmonella & Listeria
2013: Cyclospora
2014: Salmonella
2015: E. Coli
2017: Listeria
2018: Salmonella & Listeria
2019: E. Coli
2020 Salmonella
2021: Biden admin implements new food safety measures

There are cases in 34 states…….obviously there’s more than one contributing item
FDA and @CDCgov continue investigating a multistate outbreak of Cyclospora illnesses.
At this time, we are advising consumers to avoid eating shredded iceberg lettuce from Mexico served at Taco Bell locations in IN, MI, KY, OH, and WV.
FDA is investigating with CDC and state partners to determine if additional products may be contributing to this outbreak.
Updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
