@shivtweetzz Bro they're contract labourers. They don't mind getting fired from this job. If you appoint new persons they would also do the same. The only solution is to privatise the TASMAC.
Everyone is blaming the SI in the VCK protest incident involving the youngster who was arrested yesterday for allegedly slapping a police officer.
I don't understand why everyone is trying to make that youngster a hero. From the video, it appeared that he was deliberately creating a scene while people were recording it. The SI asked him to move, but he kept arguing and did not show respect towards the police officer.
He was the one who first challenged the SI by saying, “Mudinja adi da.” What kind of behaviour is that? As common citizens, we are expected to respect police officers and follow their instructions.
No one expects protests to disturb the public. Unfortunately, some VCK members were conducting a road blockade, causing traffic disruption. The police officers were doing their job by trying to clear the traffic.
But this youngster kept refusing to move and continued arguing with the SI. If the police officer used minimum force to control the situation, does that justify the youngster allegedly slapping the police officer in front of everyone?
He was reportedly using disrespectful words like “va da,” “po da,” and “adi da” towards a police officer. Is this how we should speak to government officials?
According to the official statement from Thanjavur Police, the police intervened to prevent the argument between the protesters and the youngster from turning into a larger law-and-order issue. The statement says the SSI used minimum force to bring the situation under control, after which the youngster allegedly slapped him.
The police have also stated that a case had already been registered against Aakash last year in connection with an alleged assault on a woman. They also said that a complaint had previously been made by his supervisor regarding the use of inappropriate and defamatory language at his workplace, which was later settled between both parties.
If the official account is accurate, he needs to understand his mistake and learn how to behave respectfully towards police officers and other government officials.
The police also need to ensure that protests are conducted peacefully without unnecessarily disturbing the public.
Let's not glorify someone simply because a particular incident went viral. The law should take its course based on the facts and evidence.

Another exclusive story from today — the fate of half-built Rs 621 crore Anna Salai flyover hangs in balance as highways department, midway of the construction, finds snag in design in its DPR.
The flyover has been built from Saidapet to Nandanam, but no construction has happened after Nandanam till Teynampet.
Midway of the construction, highways dept realised that the metro foundations in the centre of the road weren’t straight but rather aligned slightly to the left or right. This made it impossible to highways to place central pillars on metro foundation as the flyover will be curvy. They then proposed a change of scope before elections, where they will replace portal pillars instead of central pillars. Portal pillars will have its pillars on the pavements on each side, and will have a central beam connecting the pillars across the road. In this pillars, highways can keep straight girders. Officials further realised central pillar means occupying carriageway and the width in Cenotaph Road and Anna Arivalayam was 28m & 32m respectively, while in Nandanam and Saidapet was 36m and 40m. Construction in the centre would have meant “creating a man made traffic chaos”.
The highways mentioned all this in the scope of change for 43 pillars in Nandanam-Teynampet stretch which approved only last month.
Now, the project which was supposed to be completed will be delayed until Feb 2027.
