There's a new guy at work and he's been here maybe two weeks and we're in a meeting and my boss is talking about quarterly goals or whatever and she goes "we really need to circle back to customer retention" and this guy raises his hand and goes "I have a question" and my boss is like yes and he goes "why do you always say circle back?" and the whole room goes quiet and my boss is like what and he goes "you say it like every meeting is there a reason we're going in circles why don't we just go forward" and someone coughs and he's still going "like I've been keeping track you've said it eighteen times in two weeks" and my boss just stares at him and goes "have you never worked in an office before" and he goes "I have but nobody said circle back this much it feels aggressive" and I swear my boss aged five years and she goes "it's just a phrase" and he goes "okay but like why circles" and she just moved on with the meeting. He got let go during his probation period today and I heard him ask HR if it was because of the circle thing.

I think I understand now.
I understand his intention.
The wrong costumes, the lack of any culture, the incoherent casting, missing fundamental scenes, the complete omission of fundamental characteristics of the protagonist.
He just wanted to make a psychological horror about a world that turns into pure twisted distorted madness after the invetion of a device.
His obsession with a device that can destroy humanity was clearly not fully explored, Tenet was not enough, it was in the realm of scifi. Oppenheimer was not enough, it was in the realm of history. He needed the psychological dimension.
Any resemblance of anything cultural, mythical, even the characters resembling what they are supposed to be would have distracted from this idea.
Achaeans are dressed in dark costumes, Trojans in white, that is all that mattered, any accuracy or details in the costumes would have been a distraction.
"My name is nobody" is meaningless in this idea. Any pgysical presence of Gods is meaningless in this idea.
Any accurate casting is meaningless in this idea.
There are no symbols, no flags, no decorations, nothing that can truly identify a time and place.
Only a black horse and then horror.

Homer's Odyssey is just the excuse, a vessel for his idea, nothing more.
I understand now. This is not the Odyssey, i don't think it was never meant to be, but it would not have drawn the same attention if they were explicit.
You might have ruined the myth for the next decade for a lot of people probably just to satisfy this idea.
I understand now.

I won't be watching the movie any time soon, but I understand.
Hope you all enjoy the movie anyway, but let it not be the reason to forget the real myth behind and the culture that gave life to it.
It survived for millenia.

It's good but many consider the sword fight from the Polish movie The Deluge (1974) the most realistic and historically accurate sword fight.

Both actors trained extensively for months and got so into it one of them almost died filming this.

The Odyssey begins by showing an African rapper with rasta in the role of a Greek poet. We Greeks are forced to watch our Greek history and culture being disgraced and mocked across the entire world. What is Nolan's real role in doing something like this instead of casting a Greek person speaking Greek? What's the purpose of casting someone with rasta in the Greek world?

I'll tell you. Nolan and Hollywood are the real racists and enemies of the West. They hate us Greeks. The simplest confirmation comes from the fact that when a film is about African history, they don't cast white people, only Africans. When it's about Chinese or Japanese history, they cast only Asians, and they even speak only in their own language. But now that the time has come for a film based on Greek history with Greeks, not a single Greek is cast, they don't speak even a bit of Greek, and they don't even respect Homer. So, for films about European cultures, Africans, Asians, and anything else must be cast, but when it comes to African culture, whites are not allowed to play those roles.

This is the real racism of Hollywood.

Hollywood is a cancer that rots your souls and enslaves your minds and spirits. They hate you and they want to destroy you. Never forget the real enemies of the West and of your race. Those who are in universities, the academics, teaching your children how to hate their ancestors instead of honoring them. Don't do them the favor. Love the Greco-Roman world and fight those who hate you.

Never forget the traitors who took everything as a joke and contributed to the plan to destroy Western civilization.
