As part of my visit to Gqeberha I visited Kwadesi to see some amazing projects addressing poverty in the area with @selwynwillis - ordinary people doing extraordinary things in the absence of an involved government. Later I joined a community dialogue hosted by NMU & The Herald.

The constant sense I got while watching the President read his #cabinetreshuffle speech was that he was reading a hostage statement, and that someone had a gun trained on him should he make any attempt to veer off the speech his captors gave him to read.

Can you believe it??
There are no trains running in the Eastern Cape. At about 1pm @selwynwillis & I step onto Despatch station. I take a few photos. Suddenly a locomotive hoots at us from a distance out! How is that possible? Like a welcome sign from the universe.
