Secondly : I was referring to the Malaysian Football Association, not your club specifically. Are some of the players sanctioned for false licences part of Johor? Yes (Irazabal, Figueiredo or Hevel). Does that imply that Johor is responsible for the trafficking? No, but on the other hand, Johor may well have inadvertently breached the rule on the number of foreign players allowed in a Malaysian Super League match

Take the match against Negeri Sembilan, where those three players featured, plus the Brazilians Jairo and Bergson, the South Korean Park, the Malian Sidibé, the Spaniard Arribas, and the Azerbaijani Israfilov

There were more than six foreign players on the pitch (seven in the starting line-up), so why didn’t the federation strip them of the victory? The sanction is INTERNATIONAL, so Malaysia Super League must also be affected

Nothing more, unless your club is above the law?

Hari yang benar-benar menyedihkan buat semua dalam dunia sukan Malaysia.

Kesan dan gegarannya akan dirasai di seluruh industri apabila penaja-penaja mula memandang selain daripada sukan. Ia bukan sekadar soal periuk nasi para atlet, tetapi seluruh industri yang kini terancam.

Kita telah mengecewakan diri sendiri.

Apabila skandal besar melanda sukan berbasikal UK pada tahun 1997, ia mencetuskan satu rombakan besar-besaran yang diketuai oleh pihak berkuasa. Tempoh hitam itu, ditambah pula dengan kedudukan tangga ke-36 pada Sukan Olimpik Atlanta 1996, menandakan kemerosotan paling teruk dalam sejarah sukan Britain. Ia bukanlah Team GB yang kita kenali hari ini.

Namun, daripada detik itu bermulalah satu perubahan besar — daripada sistem amatur kepada sistem profesional. Mereka tidak lagi menoleh ke belakang sejak itu.

Team GB dilahirkan semula.

Kita perlukan reformasi dalam sukan SEKARANG!

A truly sad day for all in Malaysian sport. The reverberations will be felt across the industry as potential sponsors turn a cheek away from sport. It is not only the livelihoods of players, it is the industry at stake.

We have failed ourselves.

When a major scandal occurred in UK cycling back in 1997, it triggered a major overhaul led by the powers that be. That black period in UK sport, in addition to coming off 36th in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, Team GB was at its lowest period. It was not the Team GB we see today.

It set in motion a major shift from an amateur to the professional system. They have not looked back since.

Team GB was reborn.

We need that reformation in sport NOW.
