The ANC lost the (majority in the) 2024 NPE, but won the GNU negotiation. Unfortunately, they keep losing other consequential political decisions, even if the losses may not be immediately obvious.
For example, the DA supported the ANC in passing another austerity budget (and not increasing the allocation to local government) at the National Level.
Now that that part has been secured, Gogzille is lashing them over Joburg’s budget - something the ANC could have avoided by increasing the equitable share allocation in Parliament, which would have relieved pressure on municipalities.
We, @bettergovza told all political parties in Parliament to increase the allocation, and demonstrated how doing so is in everyone’s interests. They did not, and now, those in opposition can comfortably campaign on the lack of funds.
Whether she takes them to court or not, or whether she prevails in court or not is neither here nor there. The fact is the mere threat to do so has positive utility for her.
I suppose we should not be all the surprised because Mbaks already told us the ANC does not run Treasury, and they have no intention of doing so.
Well, Ta daa…
Criminal charges to be laid against the former CEO of the Road Accident Fund, Mr Collins Letsoala. Hopefully, he spends time in orange overalls. There must be accountability.
The only thing that changed after the 2024 elections is that the President is now protected by a group of parties and no longer just his ANC comrades.

The ANC and DA have colluded to ensure a GNU party chairs the Impeachment Committee. The ANC proposed and the DA seconded Rise Mzansi's Makashule Gana.
It is clear that the GNU is working together to protect the President from the first meeting.
JUST IN: MK Party Chief Whip Mmabatho Mokoena-Zondi handed herself over this morning to authorities.
It is alleged that during August 2024 to December 2024 the suspect head hunted and recruited four individuals into the party as researchers and during their employment she demanded payments under the pretext it was for the legal cost of the President of the same party. They were forced to pay fifty to sixty percent of their salaries.
In total, the suspect defrauded the members of approximately R233 317.99.
The suspect is to make her first appearance in the Cape Magistrate Court, today.
🚨MEDIA ALERT🚨
The Public Service Commission will officially be investigating the irregular appointments of political allies and friends by Minister Dean McPherson in the Public Works Department.
The allegations surrounding the appointment of the Chief Director: Executive Support in the Office of the Director-General paint a deeply disturbing picture of cadre deployment.
Evidence before us suggests that there was no public advertisement for the position, no properly constituted selection committee, and that the individual appointed may not even possess the qualifications required for such a senior role, but was rather appointed at the singular insistence of the Minister. If true, this would constitute a serious breach of Regulations 65 and 67 of the Public Service Regulations and a flagrant abuse of public office.
What makes this even more hypocritical is that it involves the very same @Our_DA that spent years posturing as the moral crusader against cadre deployment. South Africans were lectured endlessly by the DA about merit, professionalism, and clean governance. Yet now, comfortably ensconced in the GNU, it appears those principles have been abandoned in favour of perks and rewarding politically connected comrades in blue.
@Action4SA will support the Public Service Commission as it conducts a thorough and uncompromising investigation into these irregularities.
We will continue to fight for a professional, merit-based, and capable public service that serves the people of South Africa not politicians and their friends.

The first group Ghanaian nationals are on their way back home. They have been boarding their flight at OR Tambo International Airport, after taking up a repatriation offer from their government. Out of the 300 screened before the departure, only 10 were in South Africa legally. Their decision to return home comes amid ongoing protests against undocumented foreign nationals. Guys, Gauteng has many issues. As ActionSA, we are now dealing with an investigation into a large number of illegal private schools that are operating as a well-planned syndicate in Benoni. We have engaged Umalusi on this matter, as well as the Gauteng Department of Education.
“ActionSA has officially written to the Gauteng Education MEC demanding immediate executive intervention following shocking revelations regarding a syndicate of private schools in the Ekurhuleni region.

We must protect our communities from being taken advantage of by predatory, unregistered institutions. ActionSA will remain at the forefront of this battle until every affected child is placed in a safe, legitimate learning environment.” - @john_moodey MPL, ActionSA Gauteng Education Spokesperson
Another week, another Bad Buildings operation. We have just inspected a property zoned as a one-dwelling house but discovered 14 rooms on-site. As a result:
A building contravention notice has been served.
Services have been disconnected and will remain off until they fully comply.
If you are changing your property's zoning status, you must get consent use and submit building plans to the City.
Compliance isn't just about paperwork it's about safety, infrastructure capacity, and community standards.
@CityTshwane
@zekewareley@Action4SA You literally the ANC though, your coalition partner in the GNU. Your party is the one who refused 4 times to take Joburg back from the ANC. You'll probably go into coalition with the ANC in Joburg after the local government elections.
The DA in Tshwane left the municipality with R6.6 billion in Eskom debt.
The ANC in Johannesburg has accumulated up to R5 billion in Eskom debt.
In contrast, ActionSA has paid R2.1 billion of the Eskom debt in just 18 months in power in Tshwane.
Only ActionSA has a proven track record of successfully reducing municipal debt to Eskom.
@MrPakwe@IvynSambo Yes the one convicted of a crime was the better solution. What great principles and leadership. One puts money in his couch the other shoots into the air for fun. So thankful we have people like you voting.
