Solomon Davis

Academic Senator within MSA. Dedicated to fighting for students. **Views expressed are my own and not the views of the organization as a whole.**

[Solomon Davis @senate_davis]

There is disconnect between us in MSA and our fellow students. This account will be my way to share things directly with those who follow me. My goal will be to highlight the work I do as well as my fellow senators, in the hopes small steps of transparency can make a difference.

Today at 3:00 p.m. The City of Columbia will be hosting an interested parties meeting around regulating drink specials. This is a prime example of a decision that will impact students yet they got the ball rolling while we are away.

Looking to join MSA? Find out more information February 6th at the shack. MSA is a great place to not only meet administrators but to make the lives of students better. During my time I have been fortunate to work on various projects on campus and in Columbia.

Here are some powerful images from today’s Solidarity Walk. Thank you @MizzouLBC and @MizzouFourFront for continuing this tradition, and reminding us that we have come a long way —but there is still work that needs to be done.

Did you miss how #Mizzou honored Nobel Laureate Dr. George P. Smith today? He doesn't drive, so a reserved bike parking spot was perfect for him. #MizzouResearch

Mizzou is more than just a campus. As @ProvostRamchand pointed out, Mizzou is a relationship. It's a family, and family lasts a lifetime . It was a great experience to have so many members of leadership present, as we in @MSAmizzou work towards a better future for all students.

[Jim Spain @MUJimSpain]

Our students @MSA_Senate & @MSAPresident continue to unselfishly serve Mizzou. We are fortunate to have servant leaders in our @Mizzou Chancellor and @ProvostRamchand working with our students for what is best for Mizzou. #ShowMe #Possibilities

It's sad that my time working with @dylanmcain is coming to an end. This week got to co-sponsor one last resolution of his. Hopefully his work will be continued, but it will be different not having such a good friend and confidant in Senate each week. https://t.co/5eRWs3BoCw

Glad to be part of a process this past semester regarding academic success at MU! Made sure to bring up the concepts of not having different clicker brands, a course syllabus bank, not having to pay for strengths quest, and the role of Grad Students on Undergrads
