One of my fav things about ICR is the insane diff btw the HF and PE experience. PE bros hanging out at the bar by 3pm after 7 vanilla banker mtgs while the HF bro is on his 8th Celsius and 4th baby blue addy sweating the 10 pt intraday swing in a shtco teen apparel retailer.

That time of year when the finest inv. minds fly south to Orlando for ICR. incredible travel fits. New analyst at MLP decked out in Kith, seasoned PM wearing a golf q-zip from a club he’ll never get into, LO PM who’s missed the bmark by 450bps since 2011 decked out in linen.
Fly home for Christmas. Get in late. Wake up early to digest news. Everything is red. Pour a heavy brandy egg nog, crack the fireplace and watch 5 weeks of alpha decay in 7 minutes. Merry Christmas I love my job.
@Empty_America Biased alum here so take w grain of salt. Few places still exist where you can get well rounded experience. Played a d1 sport, was in a cappella group, joined a frat. What’s not to like? Not for everyone but good network post grad and ppl generally well adjusted / low ego
@MattJMcClintock Hmm 1) I didn’t rec a damn thing. 2) there is no one “game”. There are many games, played by diff actors w/diff incentives, LPs, time horizons. 3) GL trying to monetize relationships. Lucky to have reg. dialogue w/mgmt teams. Merely observing that false chumminess is nauseating
