@wbuxtonofficial EVs will replace ICE vehicles long before synthetic or sustainable fuels are an economically viable alternative to existing fuels. The current hydrocarbon endowment will provide sufficient resources to meet societies needs for the next 50-100 years. I say this as an O&G expert
@wbuxtonofficial@tomcorvid They are finite yes but in a economic sense sustainable fuels make zero sense. They aren’t cost competitive relative to the existing 50-100 year supply of hydrocarbons or EV technology today. They’re a dead end and a waste of investment.
@PaulGoldEagle Venezuela produces under 1mmboe p/d. The SOH facilitates 20% of the world’s global production. Better yet, the US doesn’t need either. I hope we finally remove the Iranian theocracy and free the people of Iran but this isn’t 4D chess.
@MarshFoxCharlie@LiamHogan1996@sircalebhammer To be fair billionaires pay 0% of the taxes in Wales where he’s from. Mainly because the first thing anyone does who makes enough money to have mobility options is leave. It’s kind of like Mississippi of the UK… if the UK wasn’t already below the GDP per capita of Mississippi.
@JiltedValkyrie@theepicmap There are some great resources out there but no one is going to risk putting capital in the ground given the state regulatory and fiscal environment. Makes Venezuela seem attractive by comparison. Same problem in the UK North Sea.
@JiltedValkyrie These days? Never. Before I was a father? Did it twice. Left my hometown and moved across the UK to London. Then 12 years later left London for the US. Nearly everyone I knew growing up is still with 30 miles of their birthplace. If you need a reset, go for it!
@JiltedValkyrie The fact HBO wants to make a BG3 spin off absolutely underlines this trend. Great story telling stands apart. I wish there were more Larians out there!
@JiltedValkyrie The scary thing is the gulf in quality is so apparent but we’re conditioning people to feed on slop from the performative priesthood. It just creates a feedback loop of more slop.
@Teslaconomics@teslacrazylady It’s not a religion and Elon “doesnt have your back” on this. Dude is running his company and if you buy into the long term vision then hold/buy the dip. If you think the last pivot doesn’t bode well for future prospects sell. It’s not an act of faith. Apply rational judgement.
@Budgetdog_ What were you at Deloitte? Year 3 audit associate with no path to promotion? They don’t care what a former who probably got PIP’d out the door posts on instagram. If you had the option you would clearly have taken the paternity benefit.
@TechOperator I own a 25 CTB foundation and a 25 S plaid. I’ll keep them for probably 4-5 years. If the Roadster hits this year I might be tempted to swap the S for that but otherwise I guess I’ll be looking at another brand. I want a car I enjoy driving that can drive me for convenience.
@elonmusk@CJHandmer So keep them and improve them. Restore brand confidence instead of trying to dilute customer relevance with a whole sale push into autonomy and transportation as a service. You can have both and it’s easier to balance the transition versus burn the boats.
