The reason people find it so hard to be happy is that they always see the past better than it was, the present worse than it is, and the future more unresolved than it will be.
Longshoremen promise to fuck up your children’s Christmas if they don't get paid more than 2nd year physicians with 10+ years of college.
I'm actually rooting for the robots.
My thoughts are that the learning curve for them to be able to automate loading and unloading entire ships will be unaffordable to the Fed. Fed needs a solution, ILA has no need to come to the table. And the election is in a month, and nobody wants to defend an expensive Xmas.
I am not sure what to think about the Longshoremen strike. It is a 6 figure job for many of them, but very vulnerable to automation. Chinese ports are mostly automated.
I am sympathetic to their fears of losing a high paying job. But also not sure how realistic their demands are.
What do you think of their demands?
@Infosec_4_all@fgalanda@unusual_whales The market here in Florida is going to either fail, or be artificially corrected through regulation. Just a matter of time since the yOy increases for auto and home are 15% and 35% respectively.
@Infosec_4_all@fgalanda@unusual_whales I just quit my job in the insurance industry. There are 5x as many lawsuits related to auto claims in Florida than there are in the other fifty states combined. Similar numbers for homeowners as well.
@suzyvied@PBCountySheriff Go back to New York if you’re afraid of people removing invasive species from their communities. These individuals seem to care more about the native wildlife than you vegans do.
@realCoyotay @ginandtanic @RebeccaAVelo @Heritage@ChesterTweet@theMRC@JoeBiden@SecMayorkas Lmao, and if I were to say “white supremicists don’t exist, white supremacy is just an idea” then the exact same people would just label me a racist. Hypocrisy may be lost on the left but it is not lost on me.
@jeanmihicks @LPNH Had they been insightful enough to accurately predict the future population of the US when they founded the national parks, they would’ve protected more land. This was Yosemite in 1890. Who could imagine the CA population jumping from 1.2m to over 40m in a roughly 130 years?
