Our warring world is crying out for peace.
Lives are being ripped apart, childhoods extinguished & human dignity discarded amidst the cruelty of war.
Let's silence the guns, end the suffering & build bridges.
Peace cannot wait.

Solidarity. Resilience. Feminism. Strength.
2024 was a powerful year for all of us.
Throughout this year, we’ve seen women and girls reclaim their rights, communities driving meaningful change, and collective efforts making a real difference.
We were honored to witness and highlight the inspiring work of our grantee partners, from all over the world, working to prevent and end violence against women and girls. We are proud to have amplified these voices and supported advocacy that paves the way for a safer, more equitable future.
As we step into 2025, our commitment remains unwavering. Together, let’s continue to challenge norms, break down barriers, and build a world free from all forms of violence against women.
Two steps forward, one step back is still one step forward. That is something I’ve learned working for women’s rights, and specifically here at the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women. We see progress, but also backlash. It can be frustrating at times but, deep down, I know that every single step matters, no matter how small. We can't give up. This fight must keep going.
I grew up in a very patriarchal society with two older brothers. And even though my family was - progressive, there were rules for me that didn’t apply to themwhen I was young– things like going away to school or traveling abroad alone. I didn’t really know how to name it back then, but I knew something wasn’t right. So, I had to fight for my rights and eventually got them. Over the years, I’ve learned how resilient women are, myself included. That resilience is something I see every day in my work. I’m surrounded by colleagues, partners, and activists who have been through so much, yet they keep showing up, speaking up, and standing tall.
You know, this is actually my fourth career. But I know it’s the right one for me. Walking into rooms filled with powerful women, with inspiring survivors—there is nothing else like it. I remember my first time walking into the Palais des Nations in Geneva after I started working with UN Women. The energy was unbelievable. I thought to myself, 'Okay, we’ve got this.' It’s moments like those that make you feel like anything is possible.
And now, I see more and more young activists stepping into those spaces, and I just want to tell them: Never give up. Claim the space. Learn from one another. Because every step forward is a step in the right direction.
