@Srinivas_091294 For the right cost encouraging Data center is good, we cant go crazy with subisdies like AP for capital intensive investments, it helps with GDP numbers a little bit.
@iamdatemike@ShamikaRavi why not USD to 120, why not 1000, all are just numbers! seriously these kind of Dumbheads are heading our economic advisors? Are u saying Indians are living in jungle trading between themselves?
Chennai airport has slipped to sixth in India lagging behind Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and now Kolkata too.
In April 2016, Chennai had 14 lakh passengers a month to Bengaluru's 17.9 lakh. By April 2026, Bengaluru has doubled at 36.8 lakh while Chennai has barely to 17.4 lakh.
Bengaluru has even overtaken Mumbai in domestic traffic. Hyderabad, written off a decade ago as a sleepy second city, now comfortably beats Chennai at 22.5 lakh.
The facile reasons will be attributed ro Chennai aviation numbers. Poor maintenance, delayed T3 terminal, no second airport despite both D parties having opportunistically opposed greenfield airport for the city. All this could only be partial explanation. Airport traffic isn't really just infrastructure story. It's an economic barometer
Bengaluru and Hyderabad are magnets for capital, talent and enterprise. Most unicorn, every GCC, every semiconductor design etc gravitates there. Chennai may have some genuine industrial strengths via auto, PLI-led manufacturing, ports , but it has clearly not made the transition to being a destination city for the skilled workforce and high-value services economy that generates the kind of footfall that fills airports.
The hard question Tamil Nadu's policymakers are unlikely to address the reasons for tepid aviation growth Asking it would dismantle the shrill PR pitch that works well with an audience primed on a mix of supremacism and victimhood. Parandur may help at the margins. But no airport has ever made a city. Cities make airports.
Actually, the then TN Government under MK Stalin did exceptionally well in every sense.
The DMK Government developed the state economically, socially, and politically, ticking all the boxes in terms of growth, FDI, employment, social justice, communal harmony, gender equality, education, health, sports, public transport, and infrastructure development.
MKS was very proactive and courageous in protecting state rights, linguistic sovereignty, archaeological evidence, heritage sites, and ecological balance.
There was a time when every Tamilian would feel proud to live in this period. People would envy you for having a CM like MKS. He set a standard for a leader who can be courteous, committed, and professional.
MKS had some fantastic people in his ministry and administration, starting from Ma Su, PTR, Thangam Thennarasu, Anbil Mahesh, TRB Raja, and of course Udhaynidhi, who were competing with each other with their outstanding performances.
The party seriously believed that the people of TN would decide logically and rationally while voting.
Unfortunately, people fooled themselves by trusting the fake propaganda and extremely ambitious social media manipulation by the TVK gang.
It’s a challenge for all analysts, critics, activists, and thinkers. Everyone is trying hard to find fault with the then DMK government instead of questioning the fraudulent practices of the TVK gang.
It’s a lesson for all political parties: giving good governance and waiting for voters to respond positively isn’t enough; it’s necessary to expect the worst always, even from your loyal partners and voters, because anyone can betray you, and everyone is capable of being weak, cowardly, stupid, and crooked.
We can only pity the voters, especially the educated youth in TN, who trusted a film star over a seasoned politician, despite having all access to the facts, for their vulnerability and ignorance.

@sansbarrier Kallanai is a small barrage, not a real dam to diverts water eliminating and if it reduces water from kadaimadai like poompuhar over Trichy, that is wrong too
The allegation regarding a tender being floated and closed within a single day, and the subsequent withdrawal of the tender along with the suspension of officials following public scrutiny, is worth noting.
It was the DMK Government led by Thiru. @mkstalin that, through the 2022–23 Budget presented by then Finance Minister Dr. @ptrmadurai, announced mandatory e-procurement for all government procurements from 01.04.2023 onwards. This was subsequently operationalised through https://t.co/PnKFJzoJcj.93 dated 30.03.2023, amending the Tamil Nadu Transparency in Tenders Rules.
This episode also underlines the importance of the systemic reforms and transparent governance introduced by the DMK Government.
