@uncle_deluge fwiw these types do actually hold animosity for gender-non-conforming people who refuse to identify as trans or non-binary or something. when they meet "guy who identifies as totally male but likes pink and girly things" they insist that he's actually trans and in denial
@HikiPTG@dumbbbbbaby@JoeThoman4@xwanyex You'll never guess which demographic would vote against your invasion of Kazakhstan on the grounds that it sounds mean
@wadhwa I'll do it for $150k/yr. If they won't pay that then they're not serious about hiring teachers, they just want an excuse to import subversive anti-American worms like yourself.
Leftists who nerd out about Vikings, Celtic music, Ancient Greek philosophy, or anything to do with European history & culture confuse me so much. It’s like, “Otters are my favorite animals :) I can’t wait for them all to go extinct :))”
@paleonormie Yes. And most of them chose to still not know anyway. 9/11 was when they had to start having cognitive dissonance about it. Imagine believing non-obviously untrue things one day and having to psyop yourself into believing obviously untrue things the next. Big change for them.
I ordered one pancake in America. The waitress wrote it down and said, "one short stack."
Short. I am a small and humble man. A short stack sounded perfect for me. I waited with a calm heart.
She returned carrying three pancakes, each the size of my face, stacked into a tower, with a block of butter on top sliding down the sides like slow lava.
This was the short one. I did not dare ask what the tall one looked like. Some knowledge a man is not ready for.
I ate for forty minutes. I was not full. I was afraid. The tower did not shrink. I am fairly sure it was growing back faster than I could eat it.
I had to surrender. I left half. In Japan, leaving food is a deep shame. So I leaned in close and apologized to the pancakes directly, in a low voice, one by one.
The waitress asked if I wanted a box. I did not know food could be taken into custody. I declined. I did not want it following me home.
In America, is the short stack truly the small one?
I need time to prepare my spirit before I ever face the tall one.
@Txp_RBI_Xctuxl@Anarseldain Sports teams shouldn't even do that, for that matter. Fan turnout would go up if leagues required teams to be comprised of natives.
@uncle_deluge I don't think you can rack up that much if you're a deadbeat. Child support is based on income. Anyone who can manage to owe $100k can probably afford a passport from Vanuatu or Malta or something.
@uncle_deluge Data is a non-countable plural. "This data" is correct ("this water") unless you're referring to multiple corpuses of data ("these waters" to refer to multiple seas). Messing up non-countable plurals is just one of the more common mistakes for well-educated ESLs.
@prodigal__sun Probably doesn't hurt to contact the racist publishers and check what the costs would look like so that you can do the math on whether it's correct or not.
@prodigal__sun The time to move away from print on demand is whenever you feel like you have a close enough estimate on expected sales that you're not going to accidentally overprint.
