Health Secretary backs Martha’s Rule giving right to 2nd opinion. SO refreshing that @DHSCgovuk acknowledge via Secretary of State that we need to learn lessons from other countries. No longer is NHS world leading with respect to #sepsis either. https://t.co/jvRxCLhJfA
I'm so very proud of my CEO Sarah Hamilton-Fairley who – richly deserved – was today awarded an OBE in His Majesty's Honours list for services to #sepsis awareness! Together we are mighty.
Marshall is working with the NI Agri-Rural Health Forum at the Balmoral Show - supported by the UK Sepsis Trust - to raise awareness of sepsis among the farming community.
Thanks to Marshall and our founder @sepsisuk for speaking to @BBCNewsNI

"Farmer Marshall Wylie thought nothing of it when he cut his arm, sorting wood in August 2023.
And he thought even less of it when he felt ill over the next 48 hours.
But after a sepsis diagnosis, he had to have both his legs amputated."
Help us @UKSepsisTrust to raise awareness, deliver tools to health professionals and support people affected! Thank you @BBCnireland

@AutoPap Had a Sandero Stepway Extreme recently as a hire car. It was a brilliant little thing, well screwed together, well equipped and a very impressive engine.
Well done to @SepsisUK and @UKSepsisTrust for your continued efforts with building awareness about sepsis & saving lives. My sister was a totally needless death, but spotting the signs early & acting fast makes the difference and could prevent you from losing someone you love..
"One of the identifying symptoms the UKST lists for sepsis is ‘it feels like you’re going to die’ and that is precisely how I felt."
Andrew Anthony shares his sepsis story in @observeruk, including insights from our founder @SepsisUK 👇

In today's @ObserverUK: "By the time I arrived at A&E, I was on the point of collapse. One of the identifying symptoms the UKST lists for sepsis is “it feels like you’re going to die” and that is precisely how I felt. After almost four hours I received a broad antibiotic to combat the infection before blood tests could identify the most effective antibiotic." Also highlights how our NHS often has to pick up the pieces when complications happen from surgery performed elsewhere.

Sorry but I'm out of here. I haven't read any notifications for over a week (and I'm not going to), but if you have any questions (genuine and nice ones) or need any help you can easily find me elsewhere! Feels a bit like I'm walking out of a marriage!
We all walk back into things we intended to leave right? Just to say, remember the NHS (and @WorldSepsisDay) support this #sepsis symptoms list and – importantly – call to action. Temperature, high or low, might well indicate infection but is not a reason to go to hospital. Use these.
@Linusthecat2@NHS_Lothian I'm so sorry to hear this. People at risk of chronic and recurrent UTIs - as you know only too painfully – risk #sepsis on a daily basis. There's not a lot we can do to intervene but we are here to listen.
In 2014, aged just 18, university student Emma Musson developed severe #sepsis after a perforated appendix.
Now, she’s sharing her story to encourage young survivors struggling after sepsis to seek support 🧡

Huge thanks to Rob Pugh and family for holding a darts knockout in memory of his wife, Kim, who died from #sepsis eight years ago.
Rob says he wants to "raise awareness of [sepsis], prevent others being in my position and save lives" and has raised a fantastic £2174 – well done!
