We're delighted to share Ep74 w/ LA based composer, violinist & improviser @septimalcomma (teaches at @CalArts), who speaks about his album "A moonbeam is just a filtered sunbeam", released on Another Timbre.

Now Live! Music by Cat Lamb, @hhhhhennies and @septimalcomma at the @timespans_fest. Thanks to our guest percussionist @clarawarnaar! And to @EarleBrownMF for their support of the festival https://t.co/XHGZwsNXR7
@DGHaskell@alexrossmusic@WildUp Thanks for your offer, @DGHaskell! I'm sending you a DM about The Songs of Trees - I would love to read it! Regarding pine sounds, so far it's been important to me to make my own field recordings, but I might write for location advice if I find myself in CO.
Thanks @alexrossmusic for the thoughtful and thorough writing about A moonbeam is just a filtered sunbeam, featured recently on @WildUp's Darkness Sounding festival.
Last chance to hear this new unreleased album of layered improvisations with field recordings and processing is today at sunset (Los Angeles time), streaming on @WildUp Darkness Sounding festival! Here are a few snippets of sound from the album.
I just spent time with @septimalcomma's "A moonbeam is just a filtered sunbeam" and it was gorgeous and experiential - I feel like I've been somewhere! Only one element of @WildUp's massively online Darkness Sounding festival. Details here: https://t.co/cvYV6w6Etm #newmusic
@ianpowerOMG Thanks so much, @ianpowerOMG! If I didn't make up the memory then I think we met at Wurstkuche in LA after an MEC event, but that was probably 8 or so years ago! In any case, I still have a score for a viola/cello duo of yours that I'd love to play some day.
A couple years ago I reconstructed a delightful little violin sonata by Ruberto Sabbatini from around 1660 from damaged pages in the Rost Codex and gave the US premiere of it with Ian Pritchard. We filmed it last December and now it's online. https://t.co/UR2OgCLzAu
So so grateful to the extraordinary musicians of Yarn/Wire for recording a new piece I've been working on for the last 8 months or so! Wish I could be there!
Just finished recording “primers” by @hhhhhennies and the extended curvo totalitas by Cat Lamb. Now a new @septimalcomma piece is coming together. We feel very grateful and lucky to be making this or any music right now.
Throwback to when Vicki Ray brought six of LA’s best new musicians onto Zipper Hall with her in November to deliver Grisey’s spectralist masterpiece, Vortex Temporum.
