I am privileged to be a part of "ECHOES" group art exhibition. I take my #epilepsy meds everyday to control my seizures. I try to paint everyday to keep myself free of negative feelings arising from having epilepsy. #ART HEALS.

Epilepsy has occupied 47 years of my life. Some people asked me how come side effects of anti epilepsy meds haven't set in yet? I know it has badly affected my calcium level. If there are any others I am sure I will know in due time.

When your seizures are well controlled over a long period of time, never try to reduce yr #epilepsy meds on yr own. Make sure you consult your doctor about it and follow his advice. Reduction of meds may cause seizures to recur. #epilepsyawareness#becareful
International #EpilepsyDay Video Competition launched! The winning videos will be selected based on their success in telling an inspiring personal story or in using a novel means of increasing knowledge and awareness of #epilepsy. Find out more here: https://t.co/RtIwLXWTb0
Watch 'Nina, The Little Bulldozer' - a short film that is part documentary, part animation. Through the words of Nadia and Thomas Davies (Nina’s parents) the little girl comes to life and symbolizes the spirit of overcoming. https://t.co/XwbDFwdOCP

I hv been asked why I don't hv cognitive impairment from my #epilepsy. Cognitive impairment is not a stereotype feature of epilepsy. Not everyone with epilepsy has it. Some people with severe forms of epilepsy do suffer from cognitive problems. #Epilepsyfact
Absolutely. People who ask about my #epilepsy, often start with, "I don't mean to offend you"... I usually say, "I'm GLAD you asked". At least it shows a desire to be educated on the subject.
@carolineclare0 I also hate people who prefers to look at someone in a seizure. They seem to find it so engrossing to watch rather than lend a helping hand. Some people in society can be inquisitive but same time heartless. #epilepsyawareness#epilepsy
@carolineclare0 That man said they mocked their epileptic friend when they were in school. He knows a bit now abt epilepsy and felt guilty abt how he mistreated his friend in a seizure.I told him more abt epi.He knows how to help correctly next time. #education#epilepsy
It was heartbreaking 2 hear when someone recently told me how he n his friends used 2 mock at their friend every time he had a seizure. They would do all sorts of "funny" things toward him -slapping his face, kicking n poking him, etc. This is why education abt epilepsy is so impt.
Educate yourself on how to help someone in a seizure. Don't just stand there and watch helplessly when you see someone in a seizure. Time is of the essence. #epilepsy#epilepsyawareness#educate
