New preprint out from the LoveLab at @MITChemE@kochinstitute. We modified a cryptic epitope in the SARS-CoV-2 RBD to make it more manufacturable and eliciting greater breadth to variants of concern.

After challenging mice that were vaccinated with a three VLP-RBD doses, we show that RBD-S383D-L452K-F490W-L518D (RBD-J6) elicited neutralizing activity similar to two doses of Comirnaty.

We have a new preprint from the Love Lab at @MITChemE@kochinstitute that should be of interest to the #pichia community and anyone who routinely expresses recombinant proteins in eukaryotes

Our #Covid_19 protein vaccine antigen was published in @PNASNews a few weeks ago.
The engineered RBD has improved manufacturing titer, stability, and immunogenicity - all are critical to supply vaccines to low-income countries.

Our new preprint reports preclinical testing in primates of a new protein subunit vaccine for #COVID19 being developed at @SerumInstIndia. Ab titers similar to approved vaccines, and protection from challenge.

Our preprint from the Love Lab at @MITChemE is up, describing engineering of the #SARSCoV2 RBD (the receptor binding domain of the spike protein).
Two amino acid changes make the RBD easier to manufacture, more stable, and, surprisingly, more immunogenic.
