“Dear migrants, before I say any other word to you, I want to bow before your dignity.
“You are not numbers or case files.
“You are people — with a family and a home left behind, with dreams that no one has the right to scorn.”
— Pope Leo XIV
They say “you are the company you keep” — and the fact that, a decade later, President Obama is STILL so close to Angela Merkel that the former German Chancellor flew 4,500 miles to celebrate him this week speaks volumes about them BOTH!
While we all know about his accomplishments — killing Bin Laden, achieving record economic growth, winning a Nobel Peace Prize — HERS are equally impressive:
✅ First female Chancellor of Germany
✅ First chancellor to grow up in the former East Germany
✅ Youngest German chancellor since WWII
MOST impressively, before her political career, she earned a doctorate in quantum chemistry and was the only woman in the theoretical chemistry section at the East German Academy of Sciences 🤯

The Lessons I Learned from My Dad
I am not the man my father is.
I am trying. Some days closer. Some days farther.
He never sat me down and explained these lessons. He lived them. I’m still learning them.
Show up.
The kitchen table. The hospital room. The funeral. The picket line. The call from the son who won’t answer.
Show up.
Most days that’s the whole job.
My whole life I watched him do it. Not for cameras. Not for headlines. Not because there was something in it for him. He showed up because someone needed him.
I learned that grief doesn’t make you special.
My father buried a wife and daughter. He buried a son. Yet he never treated grief as a claim on other people’s sympathy. Instead, it made him notice theirs.
A mother who lost a child. A father sitting beside a hospital bed. A kid scared about what comes next. A son who lost his mother, his sister, his brother.
He always noticed.
I learned that power is not the point.
The people who chase power eventually confuse the office with themselves.
My father never did.
Whether he was a county councilman, a senator, vice president, or president, he was the same man.
The title changed.
He didn’t.
I learned that family comes first.
The train from Wilmington wasn’t symbolism.
It was every night.
He read to us. Showed up to games. Sat through hospital rooms. Waited up for children who were lost.
And when the day came that the country and the family could not both have him at full strength, he chose family. He relinquished the last chapter of how he wanted to be remembered. And he never complained about it.
Most of all, I learned that love is not soft.
Love is discipline.
Love is showing up at one in the morning when nobody is watching.
Love is answering the phone.
Love is staying.
Love is getting back up after life knocks you down and doing it all again tomorrow.
That love saved my life.
I’ve failed at many of these lessons, sometimes in very public ways.
He loved me anyway.
That’s the last lesson.
I am not trying to become my father.
I am trying to carry what he gave me.
And if I can do that, even imperfectly, that will be enough.
Happy Father’s Day, Dad. I love you.
I don't know what to tell you folks, Joe Biden wore orthodepic shoes and Kamala Harris was too joyful so we had no choice but to burn down our alliances and turn over the presidency to a guy who acts like a spurned teenager in the cafeteria

.@TulsiGabbard Let me get this straight.
You waited until your last day, when you can't be questioned under oath, face zero accountability, and can't be challenged on a single claim, to call an 84-year-old man a mass murderer on your way out the door.
That's not courage. That's cowardice.
Dr. Fauci served this country for 54 years under seven presidents, yours included. He treated AIDS patients in the 1980s when colleagues told him it was career suicide. He helped save 25 million lives in Africa through PEPFAR. He personally treated Ebola patients instead of delegating. George W. Bush gave him the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
This man has lived under armed security since 2020 because of exactly this kind of reckless accusation. At least two credible plots to kill him have already been confirmed.
And you chose to release this, with maximum political nonsense and zero chance for him to respond, on your final day.
Some of these documents may deserve serious investigation. But the way you did this? Dropping a political bomb on an 84-year-old man's life and walking away?
That's not transparency. That's a drive-by because he resisted your president's nonsense.
Dr. Fauci should sue you for every penny.
54 years of saving lives deserves better than your last-day hit job.
Maybe you should stop using your own platform for your science fiction fantasies, and start using your immense wealth and status to fix the problems you've helped cause at home.
And the audacity...
Because of YOUR DIRECT ACTIONS, hundreds of thousands of people around the world have died, a significant portion of them CHILDREN.
You couldn't care less about humanity.
And now reporting also indicates that DOGE's cuts to foreign aid have crippled efforts to contain the Ebola virus outbreak in Africa.
As it stands, this is becoming the worst Ebola outbreak on record.
DOGE's elimination of USAID has led directly to the deaths of over half a million people worldwide, and again, many of them CHILDREN.
Your actions have also caused humanitarian crises around the globe. But what does it matter when you're shooting your dick into orbit and leaving all of these problems that YOU started behind.
Your decisions have also allowed China to fill the void left by USAID's termination.
Yes, while Trump is alienating the rest of the world, China is building up its global influence.
And to make matters worse, cuts to USAID did absolutely nothing to address the debt/deficit because it made up such a small portion of the budget to begin with.
The decision to abolish USAID has tarnished our good will and favorable reputation on the world stage.
Squandered our soft power and strategic advantages.
Lost us geopolitical leverage, diplomatic credibility, and the capacity to counter Russian and Chinese influence in these regions.
And again, this all came with a very cheap price tag.
"World's first trillionaire" is more dystopic than worthy of congratulations.
You are a fraud.
Your net worth has skyrocketed ever since you donated hundreds of millions of dollars to Trump's campaign and presidency and used your wealth and status to influence the outcome of the election.
And now you're playing casino games with SpaceX's IPO knowing that the house has already ensured you'll win.
You've also used your wealth and power to dictate US policy, divulge and steal Treasury/financial information, slow down your competitors and to ultimately turn Twitter into a cesspit of MAGA hate and bigotry, and white nationalist propaganda.
Your mindless followers might be unsuspecting of you, but to everyone else, you're simply a conman.
Because make no mistake, you out of touch, transhumanist billionaires, I'm sorry—TRILLIONAIRES, right-wing tech oligarchs, pro-Trump corporate sycophants, whatever you want to call yourselves, are not the "saviors of humanity" that you identify as...
You presume that anyone whose net worth does not rival your own is inferior.
You want people to believe you are "liberators," that you are "one of us" so that you can use their support to amass control over infrastructure and information, and to concentrate economic power and resources into the hands of the few.
Instead of using your immense wealth, power, political influence and resources to solve problems at home, instead of helping the many who are enduring humanitarian crises around the world (of which you are the CAUSE), you're shooting your dicks into orbit in the hopes that your legacy will be one that allows future generations of Bezoses, Musks, immortality seekers and awkward technogoons the chance to control the world, then go on to colonize a moon, or another planet while the rest of us continue to suffer back on earth where all the plebeians belong.
Elon Musk sued Sam Altman out of spite and pettiness because he wouldn't let Tesla absorb OpenAi.
Therein lies Musk's "business model."
At a certain point, wealth continues to accumulate exponentially on its own.
In Musk's case, his "work" is to watch that wealth accumulate, then use it to establish political and financial connections that allow him to bypass rules, regulations, to abuse the law, and even defy ethical and democratic norms that we, the people, are eternally confined to.
CNN: What you think about the president formally signing the Iran deal at Versailles last night?
Moulton: It's an appropriate place to sign a surrender document. And it's too bad that the president is completely oblivious to history to understand the parallels there
@WhiteHouse Republicans say there’s no money for programs, but there’s no problem finding $400 million to upgrade a plane, 14 million to fuck up the reflecting pool, or a 150 billion to fund a war.

The extent of Trump's destruction of Washington, D.C., is truly stunning. It's the ultimate metaphor.

I take full responsibility when I am wrong. But I will not apologize for how I react when you humiliate, disrespect, and deliberately provoke me. You don't get to do both. There's a tactic that doesn't get talked about enough. They push. They poke. They chip away at your dignity with little digs, public embarrassments, and deliberate provocations — and then the moment you respond, suddenly you're the problem. Suddenly you're "too emotional.Suddenly your reaction becomes the entire story and everything they did to trigger it conveniently disappears. That's not an accident. That's a strategy. Reactive abuse is real. And it works because good people feel guilty for finally snapping after being endlessly patient. They count on your conscience. They count on you apologizing for breaking when they spent weeks trying to break you. Your response was never the issue. The behavior that caused it was.
Spin is one thing, but it is worth noting that virtually everything Vance says about the JCPOA in this clip is wildly misleading or outright false:
1. "The Gulf Coast Coalition loves this deal." (The "Gulf Coast" is in the southern US along the Gulf of Mexico but he is presumably referring here to the Gulf Cooperation Council or GCC.) GCC states don't "love this deal" but support it to end the war that Trump started that led to thousands of attacks on their countries and shut off their exports.
2. "The Obama deal allowed enrichment, ours will not." The Obama deal allowed enrichment that was strictly limited in level, amount, location and types of centrifuges, and carefully monitored by the IAEA. The Trump MOU says nothing about enrichment except that Iran "agreed to discuss the issue...related to Iran's nuclear needs."
3. "The Obama deal allowed the accumulation of stockpiles of weapons-grade material, ours is actually leading to the destruction of that stockpile of enriched material." ??? The Obama deal did not allow the accumulation of any enriched uranium, let alone "weapons-grade material." In fact, the JCPOA required Iran to ship out 98% of all its enriched uranium, leaving it with no more than 300kg of LEU. It was only after Trump tore up that deal that Iran was free to expand that stockpile to thousands of kg, and to start accumulating 60% highly enriched uranium, 400kg of which is still in Iran. All the MOU says about that is that the US and Iran "have agreed to resolve" its disposition and that this will be done "on-site" (not in the US as Trump promised) and does not say to what level.
4. "The Obama deal gave them over a billion dollars of American money." Once again simply false. The JCPOA unfroze some of Iran's own assets and suspended oil sanctions in exchange for comprehensive and nuclear commitments, and did so only after the IAEA had verified their implementation. The Trump MOU gives Iran "immediate" waivers for exports not just of oil but of derivatives and associated services, commits to making frozen assets available without restrictions, and pledges to develop a $300 bn fund for reconstruction and development in Iran. It also undertakes, in any final nuclear deal, to terminate "all types of sanctions" against Iran, which include sanctions for human rights abuses, ballistic missile production, and sponsorship of terrorism.
It's one thing to try to sell an agreement that even your own supporters consider astonishingly weak. It's quite another to try to mislead the American people with blatant distortion of the facts.
Ricapitolando. In questi mesi il presidente degli Stati Uniti Donald Trump ha lodato Putin, Kim Jong-un, Orbán, Netanyahu, Lukashenko, Xi Jinping.
E ha attaccato: Papa Leone XIV, Meloni, Macron, Starmer, Merz, Sanchez, Carney, l’Unione Europea e la NATO.
NEWS: The company that received the government contract to help renovate the Reflecting Pool is called Greenwater Services, according to the New York Times.
The pool turned green within days, algae spread across the water, and crews were brought back for cleanup.
