This is incredibly brave. I am genuinely afraid for her life. Israel does not give a fuck about just murdering people like her. She is in terrible danger.
“We are watching a systematic starvation of 2 million people. A live-streamed genocide and the world's silence is deadly. That is why we have to keep trying everything we can, even if the odds are against us.”
Zeteo contributor @GretaThunberg shares moments from the Madleen.
From #Gaza, the cries of parents rise to heaven ever more intensely as they clutch the lifeless bodies of their children, searching for food and shelter from bombs. I renew my appeal to leaders: cease fire, release all hostages, and fully respect international humanitarian law!
This is 25-year-old Palestinian photojournalist Fatima Hassouna. It was just announced that she is the subject of a new documentary, to be screened at a festival in France. Hours later she was massacred by Israeli soldiers together with 10 members of her family.
@legalbytesmedia Baldoni's entire approach has been PR based. His legal filings are atrocious and I know you know that as a lawyer. Blake's filings have been far more geared toward the actual legal dispute. Now that she recognizes the asymmetric warfare it has been, you're on her for the "PR?"
Can we all stop living in the fiction that there is anything meaningful to be done when we don't control anything? I actually think it's a huge contributor to our election losses.
@JCorneliusBuie@openargs@matt_cam@AmoneyResists@PreetBharara Sentencing an elected president would create a constitutional crisis and would likely just get slapped down by the Supreme Court. I'm not saying this is good. This is just what we are left with since he won the election. Putting it off means potentially a real punishment later
Dear MAGA,
I know many of you are upset at Trump's pro-war picks. You expected him to be anti-war. I hate to tell you but your favorite 'independent media' hosts were lying to you the entire time. Here's Trump's 1st term foreign policy:
- increased drone strikes 432%
- 2,243 drone strikes in his first 2 years alone (more than 8 years of Obama)
- kept us in Iraq
- kept us in Afghanistan
- 330% increase in civilian deaths in Afghanistan
- bombed Syria twice
- bombed somalia
- occupied a third of Syria to “take the oil”
- Increased the military budget every year
- let Israel illegally annex the Golan heights (which is Syrian)
- assassinated a top Iranian commander who was fighting ISIS
- tried to coup Venezuela
- ripped up the Iran agreement
- armed Saudi Arabia as they did a genocide in Yemen and vetoed a bill to cut off the weapons
- dropped the 'mother of all bombs' on Afghanistan
- hired John Bolton, Mike Pompeo & Gina Haspel (all insane neocon warmongers) and let them run his foreign policy
- Pardoned black water war criminals
- signed pro-torture executive order
- his first military raid as president killed a little American girl
I haven't even included in this list what he SAYS he wants in his 2nd term (war with Mexico, allow Israel to annex the West Bank). Stop listening to scam artists who don't know the first thing about policy and only care about vibes.
With love,
a guy who gives a shit about policy
Couple interesting things as the vote tally continues:
Trump will likely end up dipping under 50% of the popular vote, though will still have the plurality.
Harris will almost certainly end up with more votes than Trump got in 2020. Possibly by as much as 1.5 million.
@kennelproud There's certainly room to critique strategy. There's a pretty clear line between "these idiots tried to lose" and "I think this was a mistake here for the following reasons. Here's the likely reason why they went with this option, but their assumption a,b or c proved incorrect."
I see it's time for a bunch of stories to the effect of "The Harris campaign was given a magic button that if they pushed would 100% guarantee an election win and they laughed and didn't even consider pushing it. What a bunch of incompetent clowns."
1/ On today's show we challenged listeners to consider the kinds of professional choices they may be facing through an extended period of Republican rule. The following scenarios are realistic and grounded in real actionable Trump proposals. Please consider and share widely
@waynepoopsinAK Probably, yes. But I think it doesn't need to be so extreme. I think we can campaign on big promises and not constantly hedge because we know things won't pass.
This is what I've been talking about. We need to stop fighting each other about things that don't actually affect the election. This is the problem. This right here. We're busy bothering with reality and they are not in reality and don't even hear about reality.
Hey remember when the right went crazy about Twitter "coordinating" with the White House but it was just about taking down revenge porn of Hunter Biden but when the literal owner of Twitter openly campaigned for Trump and lied for him and spent millions to elect him it's fine
