We inaugurated Shabeely Resort, one of the flagship projects under the Dine for Generations initiative, which spans 385 hectares. Shabeely is not only a resort, but also a living expression of the rich heritage of the Somali Region, seamlessly blending modern architecture with ancient traditions. This eastern region project, among many others, marks a significant milestone in fulfilling our promise to make Ethiopia one of Africa’s top tourist destinations. The region’s abundant natural landscape, combined with the partnerships forged through Medemer’s endeavour, powerfully demonstrates that Ethiopia is not only a nation that dreams, but one that turns those dreams into reality.

The rural corridors is a national initiative playing a major role in transforming the lives of farmers and pastoralists. Today, we visited the model development site built in Guraferda Woreda in the South West Ethiopia Peoples’ Region by the Office of the Prime Minister and accountable institutions. The site includes ten modern houses, each with bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room, a store, a room for cattle, and an outdoor bathroom. The homes are connected to the electric grid and equipped with satellite dishes. The compound also features chicken coops, cattle shelters, beehives, and a garden rich with fruits and vegetables. Implemented in an integrated way using solar energy, biogas, and other development interventions, the rural corridor creates strong opportunities for communities to adopt a modern, healthy, clean, and improved standard of living. For this transformative initiative to expand and succeed across all areas, everyone must play their part.
