Mathieu Darche needs to lock up Matthew Schaefer the day he becomes eligible for an extension like Montreal did with Demidov.
What a mistake from Anaheim to even let it get to this point, unless they were willing to accept 4 first-round picks all along.
Here are my takeaways from yesterday's #Isles Blue & White scrimmage:
- Eiserman looks much stronger away from the puck
- Veremyev playing like he had something to prove (3 goals)
- George very comfortable on the right side
- Matyuk likes to reset
- Kuehne is a smart, two-way D-man
- Aitcheson's skating looks night & day from last camp
- Hagens is very smooth, smart
- Prokhorov loves to drive the net
- Gustafsson is incredibly mobile
Even with Anders Lee leaving yesterday, the Islanders now have 9 players remaining on their roster from the 2020-21 season.
Still the most of any team in that category in the NHL.
-Barzal
-Sorokin
-Mayfield
-Pelech
-Pulock
-Cizikas
-Varlamov
-Pageau
-Palmieri
#Isles
Anders Lee.. Mr Quadzilla himself. Thank you Cap. A true Isles legend and one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. Represented the island better than anyone.
After watching Tkachuk acquired for three firsts, Nemec for two, and Eklund for 9th overall, Mathieu Darche, who through his own stupidity, only holds one top 100 pick, must face Mat Barzal and explain to him why spending the heart of his prime propping up Brayden Schenn is the REAL reason we play this beautiful game.
Mathieu Darche trading similar assets for Brayden Schenn instead of mustering this up for Jordan Kyrou is… awful.
A fear of mine with his hiring is that fans are going to get behind anything he does because his name isn’t Lou Lamoriello.
Feeling real already. This is a sad day
If Kirill Marchenko is available, I’m offering up:
Aitcheson
D. Nelson
A first
He’s a HELL of a player. And is at an age where you can absolutely justify trading prospects. (Especially when there’s a surplus of LHD in the organization)
