The Llinás lab (@Llinaslab) is hiring in the space of Plasmodium transcriptional regulation and metabolism (@MalariaPsu, @PSUScience, @BMB_PSU, @cegrPSU ,@ciddpsu)!
If interested, please email, DM, or apply here: https://t.co/CWmzgRwumF
I am looking for postbac or postdoctoral researchers! Anyone interested in applying whole genome sequencing, dual RNA-seq, scRNA-seq and/or spatial transcriptomics to study host/pathogen interactions during malaria infections?
@TebbenKieran She also identified both P. ovale curtisi and P. ovale wallikeri (in only four infections) and observed comparable levels of genetic diversity in P. ovale and P. falciparum (despite their massive difference in prevalence in Mali)
New paper from the lab: @TebbenKieran characterized host and parasite gene expression using whole blood from Malian children successively infected with P. falciparum and P. ovale
https://t.co/ygDLVOMVzy
@TebbenKieran She found that the host gene expression profiles clustered by individuals rather than according to the Plasmodium species causing the infection

New(ish) paper from the lab: @AlmostDrHazzard combined @10XGenomics scRNA-seq with @PacBio sequencing to characterize full-length isoforms of Plasmodium vivax at the single cell level
https://t.co/tFUUZDp98O
… and many of the isoforms were regulated in a stage-specific manner, suggesting that alternative promoter usage may be an important mechanism for regulating gene expression throughout the Plasmodium life cycle.
@SalmanF70432683@SerreLab@PostdocPhd Feel free to apply to our Genome Biology Track for a PhD! We have added two new courses on genomic data science and applications. https://t.co/NjzSiDXlxU
I am looking for postdocs! Anyone interested in applying dual RNA-seq, scRNA-seq and spatial transcriptomics to study host/pathogen interactions during malaria infections? No prior experience in microbiology/parasitology required.
I am pleased to announce that @UMBaltimore is commencing a national search for the next dean of the @UMmedschool to succeed E. Albert Reece, MD, PhD, MBA, who announced his retirement in March. We expect to name the new dean by spring 2022. https://t.co/tVJLL0Tw9z
Interested in research at the cross section of infectious disease and immunology? We're looking for two postdocs! We have tons of projects on vaccine research, flu studies, adjuvant development, and more! Please share and send a cover letter and CV to [email protected]
.@MattVCannon1@SerreLab and colleagues present a sequencing-based assay that could significantly improve monitoring of human and animal vector-borne pathogens.
In their work, the team characterise a wide-range of eukaryotic parasites and arboviruses: https://t.co/I0Z5poimNX.
We are recruiting new junior PIs for infectious disease research @CiidHeidelberg through generous support from the Chica and Heinz Schaller foundation. We offer fantastic colleagues, students, equipment, networks - all in one of the most livable cities. Please RT, please apply.
If you’d like to help build a massive, genomics driven, analytical machine for understanding human disease, with immediate translational impact, then this job might be for you. https://t.co/ODmLC6WeYt
