@lb_southwark until when will OCO cowboys charge several times for the same job because there is no one checking these ? It has become a ritual that they book appointment, don’t show up, charge twice, come without proper tools, charge again, repeat while residents have no heating
Good to see this finally get national coverage. First reported by yours truly.
As councillors have warned, this is likely just the tip of the iceberg - Chilton Grove and Arica House still need looking at.

@lb_southwark is now planning to completely scrap the door-step rubbish bags collection from Setchell Estate.
Setchell Estate contains over 300 households with a big portion of vulnerable residents.
It doesn’t take a lot of brain matter to think about the consequences.
They are considering of our only green area to house more rubbish. That means getting rid of the willow trees that named Willow walk and replace them with rubbish.
Our rubbish bins are always overflowing and, as a solution for that, @lb_southwark wants to pile even more rubbish everywhere. How does that make any sense?
It amazes me how @lb_southwark is consistently exceeding all expectations of incompetence. When we think it can’t possibly get worse, they find a way to accomplish that.
Elderly people won’t be able to take their bags all the way to the bins. Rubbish will end up scattered everywhere. Our scandalous service charges will not be reduced.

@maxetempler @sezking78 What has this council become? This is utterly shameful. But not surprising based on how things have been evolving on this matter.
@maxetempler @sezking78 In the leaseholder conference last year, I did get a feeling she was invested in helping. When the investigation was mentioned then, it was suppose to be about the entire borough district heating. But then she started to just mention Peckham… and now looks like nothing at all
@maxetempler @sezking78 Has @sezking78 ever responded to you here? Or anywhere else ?
We don’t seem to get to her or anyone who can answer our questions.
My energy and heating bill now exceeds £200 per month.
It’s a well insulted 2 bed flat, 5 years old, but my bill is around 100% higher than the average 2 bed flat in the UK.
This is because I have no consumer choice, compelled to use a district heat network for heating my home.
District heat networks must be brought under the OFGEM price cap, or be banned.
Yesterday, Setchell Estate had a TRA meeting for which we had attendance confirmation from Mr. Paul Gathercole (Gas and Water Contract Manager for @lb_southwark ) to discuss our concerns related district heating.
Mr. Gathercole did not show or sent apologies.
Around 500,000 UK households are on communal heating systems - heat networks
Until now these have been lawless monopolies, some great, some appalling! Long-awaited regulation is finally on the cards.
