.@fairfightaction is monitoring closely. We filed emergency litigation in the last purge in late 2019 that resulted in over 20k Georgians being restored to the rolls, the state admitting erroneous removals.
THREAD: This is not accurate. Glen Kessler continues to misstate provisions of SB202 and misinterpret its impact. Let’s start with this analysis.
FACT #1: Prior to SB202 there were no restrictions on early vote hours during the 3week early vote period in Georgia. #gapol 1/13
We have asked @USATODAY to repost the original version of the op-ed, which we were asked to update for the print edition. Thanks to internet archiving tools, it can also be seen here: https://t.co/lssHvbNAyc
"I again repeat my admonition from 2019 that leaving us behind won’t save us. So I ask you to bring your business to Georgia and, if you’re already here, stay and fight. Stay and vote." --@staceyabrams, in the online version of her @usatodayopinion op-ed, published 3/31
Imagine how much Kemp and his Comms team could have done if he did 90+ interviews asking white men to get vaccinated rather than do 90+ interviews defending Jim Crow 2.0
What a disgrace.
Just in: President Biden is returning to Georgia on Thursday to celebrate his first 100 days in office, marking the moment in a state where Democratic victories allowed him to pursue a far more ambitious legislative agenda. #gapol https://t.co/ehbidKLsIx
First of all, it was waaaaay more than 10 times. Second, I hope a U.S. Senator is smart enough to read past the second word in an op-ed. Third, she shared info with businesses wishing to help strengthen democracy. And it’s well documented that she urged MLB to stay. Stop. #gapol
Stacey Abrams described Georgia’s new voting law as “Jim Crow” at least 10 times before MLB moved the All-Star game.
She also wrote “boycotts work” and threatened the businesses which didn’t attack the new law.
She convinced the MLB to boycott Georgia.
@SenTomCotton First of all, it was way more than 10 times, and Jim Crow 2.0 was an apt description. Second, I hope that a U.S. Senator is intelligent enough to read past the second word in an op-ed, but maybe not. She shared information for businesses. And third, absolute pants on fire lie.
This is misleading. Abrams wrote that boycotts work under certain conditions...but proceeded, in the same op-ed, to argue that Georgia's conditions weren't right for a boycott. In a web video that day, she explicitly said, "Please do not boycott us." https://t.co/Ym0uIdFZy8
Kemp, Ralston, Loeffler, Jones, FOX, Shapiro, and Republican U.S. Senators lie while @PolitiFact, @CNN, and @ajc tell the truth about @staceyabrams’ support for Georgia voters and Georgia workers - and while we continue to tell the truth about GOP voter suppression. #gapol#SB202
I look forward to joining @CNNTonight with @donlemon tonight, 4/22, during the 10pm ET hour to discuss the importance of passing federal legislation to safeguard our democracy. Tune in.
Less drop box access = more rejected ballots. #SB202 cuts them, cuts 300hrs of their use, locks them four days before Election Day, and imposes 11-day return deadline for ballot applications. Fewer Georgians’ voices will be heard. That’s the point. #gapol

"Some"? Let's roll the tape on what Gabriel Sterling himself said in just 1 interview. THREAD:
Gabriel Sterling on Drop Box Provisions of SB202:
“The whole point of a drop box is to have it outside…I think they’re overregulated in this bill” #gapol 1/11 https://t.co/2JCzanVChg
