@TKopelman My wife and I do it every year! Rolled pretax balance in my old 401k into a Solo 401k when I started my new practice to ensure I could continue to do it without tripping up pro-rata rules. No brainer!
Nothing new here but outperforming the market has basically been impossible over the past 1-2 decades

@markcecchini My parents engaged me starting in 2018. Being able to help with their financial planning has been extremely rewarding!
In 5 yrs I’ve helped them:
- Navigate a business sale
- Buy a second home
- Save tens of thousands of dollars in taxes (income and estate)
@CPAPlanner Hey Jeff - great work here, the planning community is lucky to have you! Quick question - do you know if the RMD waiver applies to inherited IRAs as well?
Thank you so much for allowing @Shaun_SPP and me to contribute to this article! We hope our story will encourage more @fpassociation members to get involved with pro bono activities.
Big shout out to the very talented author @tallmonica - couldn't have told it better ourselves!
“It’s ironic that the people who need [#financialplanners] the most cannot afford our services on a regular basis. The opportunity to give back changed my life in the way I go about my business.” @seth_spp, @fpa_ma's 2017 volunteer of the year, in the latest issue!👏👏👏
@Knudge@marsden_wendy Love it! In addition to a reminder, there should be a prompt to have the client send data (paystubs, external account gain/loss info, itemized updates, etc, etc) so the advisor can verify payment amount and facilitate tax planning conversations!
