"The greatest sin you can commit against your own life, is to know what you want...and not to act." - Stafford
Do not betray yourself.
Take the Chance.
Founder archetypes that STAY as the bottleneck:
(doesn’t matter if you’re doing $10M a year, this could still be you)
THE INDISPENSABLE
>Makes himself the answer to every question, but the company can’t run without him.
THE BEST EMPLOYEE
>Does the work instead of building the systems. Spends more time on the task-list than the company.
THE MARTYR
>80 hour weeks are the “proof” he cares, even though he’s missing every dinner and every recital.
THE HOARDER
>Leaves every dollar in the business because it feels noble… only to be stuck in feast-or-famine for years.
THE EMPIRE-BUILDER
>Chases the topline number and takes home less at $5M than he did when the business was half the size.
THE CASH-BLIND
>Excited over revenue, doesn’t notice the cash leaving. Revenue does not matter if the cash keeps disappearing.
THE BLOAT-COLLECTOR
>Adds offers, hires, and complexity and calls it growth, and will not get smaller even when smaller is the move.
THE GRAVEYARD DWELLER
>Grinds away in the $2M to $20M No Man’s Land and never notices that the model is the problem.
These founders aren’t lazy.
Chances are, they’re working harder than anyone you know…
But it isn’t an effort problem… it’s an IDENTITY problem.
@nickmangwana First time I agree with you Nick. Let develop our industry and make things affordable for our people- then put tarrifs on imported goods.
• Let's talk about the modern pregnancy compensation theory first. Think about human history. For thousands of years women spent most of their adult lives either pregnant or breastfeeding. Pregnancy naturally suppresses the immune system so the body does not reject the baby. In modern times women have far fewer pregnancies. The theory is that the female immune system evolved expecting to be suppressed for decades. Without that constant pregnancy suppression the immune system is left completely revved up with nothing to do and ends up misfiring against the body itself.
• We are also learning that the bacteria in our gut basically act as a training camp for the immune system. There is a strong working theory that sex hormones completely alter the types of bacteria that survive in the gut. The female microbiome might be training immune cells to be more aggressive from a very young age. We cannot fully prove it yet but it makes a lot of clinical sense when you see how gut health impacts autoimmune flares in the hospital.
Hope this gives you all much better clarity on what is actually happening behind the scenes with autoimmune diseases. FOLLOW ME if you want more clinical breakdowns like this!
