Here is a snippet of the Cherubic Hymn which I have composed. Recorded last night with 4 of my opera colleagues, one on each part, with me conducting (and thankfully not singing). Glory to God!
@viola_enjoyer22 This is beautiful, we bassists have this in our repertoire as well. I like how you were able to maintain long phrasing while also having some of the pensiveness that one would hear in a period recording with the arpeggione playing it
Recently took a roadtrip with relatives in a hired car – first time I've been in a new auto that is not a taxi for some years. Thanks to safety regulations the things are just a festival of beeping now. Constant speed alarms every time you go a little over the limit. Huge meltdown anytime you try to park or get vaguely close to some shrubbery. Now they propose to add a whole new tier of beeping. The obsessive-compulsive neurotic personality of our pantsuit Eurotard overlords decanted into our daily transportation for everyone to experience personally.
I've been made fun of for having an Italian accent in Swedish but I think having an Italian accent in a country full of undersexed women who go to Italy every summer anyway to recreate the ancient homo sapien-neanderthal romance meetcute is an unspoken advantage
‘Before He was nailed to the Cross, He [Christ] endured blows to the face. Why? Because He had to atone completely for the sin committed by Adam.
In Old Georgian, it is written “he chewed”.
The face (სახე) which chewed (განცოხნა), that is, chewed (დაღეჭა) this apple, [or rather] which was not an apple but that fruit which was forbidden. Man put it into his mouth and chewed it; and so, for this face, Christ received blows upon His face.’
–Metr. Nicholas (Pachuashvili), Atonement for original sin (an excerpt posted by him from his Good Friday sermon given last year), 0:10-45
I have finished creating a pocket sized book of the Ambrosian Little Office with other Ambrosian prayers.
I am currently sourcing options for leatherbound/hardcover printing with ribbons.
Please let me know if you would be interested in purchasing a copy when available.
One of the most important things which led me to become Orthodox over six years ago was the Saints. Not just their lives, but their words which were life-giving. If one were to take away St. Ephraim's name from this, he would not realise that this comes from a modern Saint
