I was all for protecting the course at all costs but now I’m completely in favour of the golfer been able to play with the least amount of restrictions, without golfers I wouldn’t be in a job. That been said they must understand that there will be considerable wear to the course.
@WirralARG@johnmac150 Golf courses are a valuable space and resource for wildlife/ fauna - a great initiative to verify what is in your area - will be interesting to see what is discovered.
@DanPattenGK @Lancashiregolf@HuytonPrescotGC Top head green keeper - great journey to get there at such a young age - remember your first day with me !!
Course all set for @Lancashiregolf 2022 Collinge Trophy @HuytonPrescotGC . The team have done a fantastic job in getting the course into the condition it’s in! Proud to be Course Manager at a great golf course 👍
@wallaseygolf@johnmac150 Sound advice - the early days at Lee Park when Alistair Beggs was our STRI agronomist started our manual weekly data collection process - greens smoothness, speed, moisture content with Theta probe ( no Clegg hammer) comparative data each year.
Having digital info is a step up.
An interesting article featuring our Course Manager @johnmac150 on daily monitoring of the moisture levels in our greens, referencing our ex captain Frank Stableford and our recent nomination for a Golf Environment award for our Dune Reinstatement Project. #homeofstableford
@JamesMatthewman To be a good green keeper takes dedication, professionalism, and a mind set of attention to detail. You are ruled by the weather and unprofessional golf club committee people who know nothing about sports turf.
Consequently you are in a highly stressed environment of worry.
