Today, among the goods that are universally intended for everyone, we must also include new forms of property, such as patents, algorithms, digital platforms, technological infrastructure and data. In a context where the wealth of nations depends increasingly on knowledge and technology, when these goods remain concentrated in the hands of a few, without adequate forms of sharing and access, a new imbalance is created that contradicts the universal destination of goods. In turn, it widens the gap between the included and the excluded, between those who can participate in the digital revolution and those who remain on the margins. #MagnificaHumanitas
If blathering on about yoga and Covid and the origins of zero are the best way he can address a direct question about human rights, Indians need to be very sceptical about the effectiveness of our diplomacy.
So, NetNeutrality issues are gonna blow up again in India in 4-5 months (or less). Jio's up to something, TRAI seems turned. Very 2014 vibe.
Consider this an early warning.
Someone else will have to pick up the gauntlet. Am tired of having to push back on shit all the time.
🚨Ground report: I spent 3 days as a gig worker for Zomato, Blinkit & Swiggy in Delhi.

This is India's convenience economy. A thread on what I learned @IndianExpress
Probably the best thing you will read about Delhi’s poisoned air and the lies told by politicians
The politics of air pollution—how they are fooling the citizens https://t.co/Xe22EhHeMD
India has an urban crisis- no amount of smart/techno nonsense buzzwords or 13 new flyovers will solve it
This is a selective overpopulation issue. There r no *real* jobs outside mum, ncr-delhi & blore-- unless tier 2 towns develop & population concentration gets spread out, this is future of Indian cities-- heat zones w AC bubbles, unsustainable filthpots & tiny neighborhoods of affluence behind savarna gated housings.
Internet standards are voluntary, but necessary. Without them, the Internet would be a mess!
Hear from Isra Rosas, our director for partnerships and Internet development, about how standard setters keep the Internet running smoothly, enabling us to communicate and collaborate online with ease.

This is for the CTO's and founders: The little known Internet thing that very few people talk about is peering. When we access a website or an app, data comes to us from somewhere else in the world -- from data center to ISP to undersea cables, to landing stations, to ISP to ISP and so on until it reaches our devices. Regulating peering has implications for what we can access, how expensive our connectivity is, and the speed of access. Invariably, for Internet access.
ISOC is hosting a Peering Roadshow in India on the 6th of June, and MediaNama is hosting it. We'll discuss peering regulations, including licensing/authorisation of IXPs, blocking on content via peering infra among other things, as well as a workshop on peering best practices.
Please do sign up for this. Link in the next tweet in this thread.

@volkswagenindia your customer care agent won’t let me speak to your supervisor after failing to escalate my service complaint. Then proceeds to disconnect the call. I have a recording for all this. Regretting buying the new Taigun already within a month.

I shot this image inside the abandoned #UnionCarbide factory in 1999 to illustrate how thousands of tonnes of toxic waste remain in and around the abandoned plant after the #BhopalGasDisaster. Sadly nothing has changed 40 years later, it is still there. #RememberBhopal
