@TuckerCarlson Ahhh I love watching the shill brigade freaking out in the comments. Too bad AI memes can't make all the footage and reporting go away. Tucker's over the target again! π
@BrenMOBoyle@DavidBCollum The speed and disruptiveness of tech advancement has been sluggish in the 21st century compared to the 20th, so it's not like the rules have suddenly changed if they didn't change back then.
@littlejoeward@darkacademician Yeah, reasonable wealth inequality like in the 1950's is fine. Today it's out of control. Also, following the law is great until you have gazillionaires paying politicians to write laws that regulate competition to death and let them dodge taxes.
@fimbres_paul@darkacademician The employees can get the vast majority of the revenue even if you're paying slave wages, provided there are enough of them that their cumulative pay exceeds that of the owner. What was your point?
@fimbres_paul@darkacademician Irrelevant? So if there were zero employees, those nonexistent employees would still be getting most of the revenue? π
@fimbres_paul@darkacademician Right, but that would still be true even if the workers were being paid sweatshop wages, purely because there are so many of them. That doesn't mean paying people as little as possible is healthy for the country. I miss the middle class.
@RpblcCmmndo38@triumph_and@darkacademician That depends how they go about it. The fatcats back in the Gilded Age would hire mobsters to break up strikes by machinegunning workers. You might be too trusting of people who say, "more and more of the national wealth should be in MY pockets, not yours."
@RpblcCmmndo38@triumph_and@darkacademician Yeah it's a lot of things at once. But the people making off with more and more money while all this is happening don't get to pretend their hands are clean.
@RpblcCmmndo38@triumph_and@darkacademician The technicals of how wealth moves around is beside the point. One way or another more and more wealth that used to be distributed across the population is ending up in bigger fortunes in fewer hands. Hence the middle class is vanishing and the country is visibly poorer.
@RpblcCmmndo38@triumph_and@darkacademician It's a mutually beneficial arrangement between employer and employee, but that doesn't mean one side deserves a lopsided share of the credit (and pay) for the wealth they create together. In a few generations the middle class has been replaced by a few gazillionaires.
@mossomo@TheHauskarl The Russian people weren't winning anything either before the Soviet regime fell. The ethnic groups within the USSR had become more nationalistic and the economy was stagnating, and no one took the regime seriously anymore. That was basically all it took.
@DanGoorevitch@godblesstoto By default flags represent nations and by extension nationalism. Globalists, not nationalists, are now the establishment. Their empire has no flag and they view nationalism as rebellion. See the establishment crackdown on britons flying the British/English flag.
