I suppose it’s time to tell my abortion story. Of the abortion that didn’t happen, that led to me.
A lot of anti-abortion people put words & thoughts into the mouths of the unborn.
Well, I’m one that was recommended to stay unborn, who got born, and here’s what I say. 🧵1/?
@barbarrett @kariebookish Freehold is the norm in Scotland, so it’s not that. Something about the conversion is odd? Duplex has no garden, so it must all belong to (small) gf flat… aerial photos look okay - no piles of rubbish in the gardens so it’s a conundrum all right
@RachelDelahaye Such gorgeous pictures! As a counter to the comments of that teacher, keeping a file/note of positive comments can help put things in perspective! It’s a helpful trick for a lot of people - mine are filed in a folder called ‘compliments’! Xx
@AjaSaysHello Me too! Delighted to get your book with my Christmas voucher & spend a lovely time browsing all the fab books in the nooks & crannies.
@AjaSaysHello My sister in law test drove a Tesla and said it was like driving an iPad. Dull. Dull. Dull. She went for a snazzy red all electric Hyundai instead.
@yarnsniffer Agree. Had an issue a couple of weeks ago and spoke to GP first then was invited for an examination. Spoke about 9am. Examination about 10am (the same day). Follow up results by phone.
And how do SUVs stack up when considering pedestrian safety? So weird how we are told all about the safety features for people *in* the car, but not the ones outside it.
@AyoCaesar It’s a lot safer to drive an SUV. Was in an accident when an idiot bus driver went through red light and hit my car. SUV totalled - police said if we’d been in a smaller car my kids would have been seriously injured.
@phil_wray 😹
I have lefty kids and none of their teachers had any idea how to help them write properly! Not much has changed since I was a kid on that score!
You don’t have to smudge if you are a lefty - but you do need a teacher who helps you get your page lined up correctly. Lefties should slant their page to the right. If you slant your page to the left like a right hander then you *have to* hook to write on the page.
If you are a lefty, then to do italic writing you need a specialist nib and different letter formation for some letters. So unless you had a clued up teacher then you were never going to manage. Not your fault.
@katherineschof8 I learned, or tried to learn, to write in italics at primary school. We all had to. Being left-handed didn't help, but I was always totally rubbish at it.
@kariebookish @YourWorstPM Give Batman a break, he’s clearly joining his red and blue yarns in for colour work and we are just seeing that moment when he’s adjusting his grip to accommodate three colours of yarn… right?
Natural immunity used to be all we had and that’s why life expectancy used to be decades shorter than it is now. Medicine works. Vaccines work. You know why smallpox isn’t a thing anymore right? Ditto polio, diphtheria, pertussis etc etc… because of vaccines mate, vaccines.
