@jspencebaker I used to think people serving in the legislature were paid enough, when I was single, in my 20s, comparing it to my full time teaching salary, not knowing what people in other professions actually make.
@piper4missouri Then a student brought up the rule, you should never ask a woman if she’s pregnant. I agreed but said what the 1st student asked me was appropriate and I could decide how to respond. Honestly it was a great discussion in not asking and not putting the pregnant person on the spot
@piper4missouri I was a TA while pregnant, we came back from spring break, at the end of class one student asked me if I had any kids, I said no but I will in August. The class erupted, apparently it had been discussed on the down low if I was pregnant or not, but they didn’t want to ask (1/2)
@jspencebaker Is there only reason to retain/hire more teachers? when the days are only 40 minutes longer, it won’t retain hourly staff, right? Or school bus drivers or cafeteria workers who are now losing an entire day? And all incentives are lost if all districts do it?
@eileenduffy@JaBogen I did have friends and neighbors willing to hangout distanced outside with me. Which was good to just know I wasn’t alone. I volunteer for every meal train I see now, never feel bad about sharing those!
@jspencebaker As the daughter of a farmer who just lost out on farm land to an out-of-state corporation (maybe foreign backed, maybe not). I can without a doubt tell you this does not matter and my dad will be voting for Schmitt.
@ashtonmiller@TonyForMissouri@sjpdinfo Looks like St. Joe teachers start at $36,700, but only if they have certification and a bachelors degree. Or I guess a bachelors degree and working on certification, is also an option.
@ashtonmiller@TonyForMissouri@sjpdinfo I don’t know about St. Joe, but I’m surprised to hear police officers make less than $50,000 after overtime pay. That is too low, I agree.
@ashtonmiller@TonyForMissouri@sjpdinfo I’m speaking more to the KC police issue, where KC is the only city in the state that doesn’t have local control. And instead of giving local control to the KC police the Senator just wants to throw more money to the department without local accountability.
@417Kim My dad asked me if I ever went to Happy Rock? I said yeah we go to happy rock park like every other week, why? He didn’t know about Happy Rock park, he was just joking about Gladstone, I’d never put it together.
@TheFakeFakeNed @bustwemust@JustinMeyerKC Have you taken kids in a public restroom? Have you ever helped your three year old not fall in while holding your 1 1/2 year old back from escaping under the door? These look great to me.
