@BBCBreakfast Thanks, but….
What we actually need are more trained GPs and clinicians
Successive manifesto promises = 6000 more GPs
Numbers are falling and the toxic media and political rhetoric is accelerating this trend.
Work force planning requires long term investment not lies
Thank you @BBCBreakfast and @DrRosemaryL for finally shouting out for General Practice. Am totally deflated and demotivated but the GP bashing. GP constitutes 80% of nhs care yet we get 20% of the budget. There won’t be a GP if it continues ☹️
@UniOfYork@UoYArchaeology That was most appalling graduation ceremony i have had to encounter. Not only was it virtual ( absolutely no reason why it could not be F2F - lots of other unis have managed it) … but you could not even be bothered to read out the graduate names or show their award on the lists
Increasing the number of training places is only part of the solution! If we don’t pay nurses what they deserve for the value they bring, provide ongoing development as a right not a privilege and open up the doors for career progression, we will never fix this chronic shortage!
@DitsyRedOne Hi, please find the unroll here: Why people can't get a GP appointment: A thread. Everyone who has… https://t.co/8T2ve675L9 Have a good day. 🤖

@marsden_paula@RCNGPNForum @EllzSummary @kstorey63 @NHSEnglandLDN@BrownNhsdeb@marsden_paula I heard a rumour that NHSE are reconsidering this.. would be good to see Nurses included in both the ARRS roles as well as in the AP role... but even if this happens, it will not address the inequity of T&Cs for GPNs
Already hearing stories of practices saying to nurses that the 2.1% pay uplift in the new GP contract - isn’t really there - practices offering 1%
Accountability is needed now in general practice to ensure public money goes where it is intended - tired of the gaslighting. 1/
It’s not just GPs, practice nurses & other staff are struggling too. Nurses tell us they’re thinking of leaving due to t&c, & value, reception staff receive abuse - real change in general practice is needed. @ClareGerada@Heatherrandle5@BMA_GP@pulsetoday
With an easing of some restrictions only hours away, and availability of LFDs to all adults that they could do before travelling, why do England’s university students still have no clarity on when they can return to campuses where covid protocols already exist? #students#uni
