Crocodiles have moved into Ocean Rift’s mixed reality aquarium! 🐊🐊🐊 They come in different sizes, colours, and temperaments. It doesn't come across on video but they look HUGE in mixed reality. I've spent hours feeding them it's quite relaxing!

@deepak_george@crashlandvr Yes it will be a free expansion, v2.0. Focus is on new content (30+ new creatures, new weapons, perks etc) rather than Quest 3 enhancement but it will look better
Want to have sweet caustics? Here you go:
-> Get a caustics texture (bw)
-> unpack in shader twice and pan at different speed/size
-> blend with min(tex2, tex1)
-> Enjoy!

@FleshyVertebra The mixed reality scenes have unified caustics, not projected but rather in the shader itself as an additive texture effect. It could be done for the VR habitats (at least for Quest 3), but would need to re-do everything to have the same material. Projection much easier on PC
@FleshyVertebra I develop solo in my spare time so just priorities really. PCVR is dwarfed by stand alone audience so need to focus there. I'm planning a SteamVR version of Crashland once the special update is out.
@FleshyVertebra I added a few improvements when I did the mixed reality update, needed to switch from gamma to linear colour space which meant tweaking each habitat
@FleshyVertebra Next up for OR will be a mixed reality crocodile habitat, maybe a few more in second half of year. I tend to revisit the app when a new tech comes along (VR, mobile, hand tracking, standalone, MR etc).
@FleshyVertebra still cooking - it's nearing alpha. 12 new missions but each has about 2-3 new creatures, new weapons, perks, so takes a while. Open beta this summer hopefully
